It is beautiful up there but you have to be prepared for a long night treck. It took us 6 hours to go up there and 4 hours and a half to go down.. the end is the worst part. But it worth it when you can catch up the sunrise up there :)

We took this trek via Beyond Adventures. While the ride was understandably rough on the unfinished road, our guide was an able driver, and he and his crew did everything they could to ease the trip. (Advisory: if you get motion sick, take a Dramamine or the like; also f you have trouble at higher altitudes this may not be... More

We visited the volcano at night, some hostels arrange shuttle busses that drop you off at the foot of the volcano at midnight. Hiking 13.5km up in darkness with flashlights, and on top waiting for the sunrise which is just beautiful. Make sure to bring some warm clothing though when doing it at night, especially at the top it gets... More

This is a definite must for the more Adventurist hiker, have only hiked a small portion, very scenic. Good idea to notify friends or relatives before the hike as the park ranger is not always on site.

It is possible to do the summit from Boquete during the day if you start early. There is public transportation from Boquete (one block North of the parque) from about 5:50 AM. I took a colectivo at 5:55 AM to 'El Salto' (1,5 USD) it drops you off at the the turn-off, just 1.3 km from the National Park Entrance.... More

For me this was a very tough outing. Most of the trek is done on what was a road built to bring tourists by vehicle to the top of the volcano but the road has been destroyed by flooding and rocks being swept down breaking up the road. This has left the terrain difficult to navigate - it was like... More

The trail starting in Boquete is 14 km long, the top part is quite steep. We took a guide and walked form noon to 5.00 PM to the top. Slept at the top, and after sunrise and breakfast walked down again in less than 4 hours the next morning. The hike requires a fit condition but is certainly deasible for... More

We did a "secret trail" with local guide which starts at the entrance to Volcano Baru national park and is a round trip with takes around 4 hours. Amazing views, weather is changing every five mints so layers are advisable. camera just can't capture all the variety of colours.

It was a beautiful morning when we ventured up to the top of the volcano by jeep. Incredible view above the clouds and the sunrise was spectacular.
