This is one of the main attractions near Salalah. The beach has stunning views & good photo spots. The blowhole is something different & would excite the kids. This place doesn't have enough shade, so longer stay during day time isn't possible. Visit in the evenings after 4;00 pm would be much cooler. There is also a little restaurant with toilets.

The rock formation as part of the cave structure is truly magnificent to look at. The place is very close to Mughsail beach and you can explore it when you are visiting the beach. I was here during the not very touristy period and found the place even more peaceful.

Its a beach with rocky mountains beside.
There are few blow holes from where the waves pushes the seawater through the blow hole for a spectacular fountain effect

Marneef Cave - better known locally as Mughsayl - is a must-see place when you're in Salalah. We are ex-pats living here and visit it often, both with guests and on our own. There is a spectacular view and some impressive blowholes depending on what time of year you visit. The area changes dramatically with the seasons - during khareef (monsoon) the sea is fierce and the blowholes very active (July/Aug/Sept). The rest of the year, the water is crystal clear and you can often spot rays & turtles. There are shaded areas to picnic in and and a lovely coffee spot called Cafe Mocha where you can sip a coffee on a beautiful terrace overlooking Mughsayl Beach. Look out for dolphins which you see here often! Depending what time of day you're there you might see the fishermen bringing in their catch. Excellent half-day trip!

The Manreef Cave is a must visit if your in Salalah. The view is great and if your able and willing you can climb a little higher for even better views. After a couple of pictures there is not much else so it ends up being a quick visit. I did end up going back a second time because it is such a refreshing place to see when your in Salalah for a while.

Great place to spend a couple of hours. The views are spectacular and the geysers are nice too and since we visited the place during the khareef season the intensity of the geysers was high. Must visit while in Salalah.

At the Mughsail beach there is a sign post that directs you towards the parking area of Marneef Cave. To explore a little more we were told there is a graded road to a beach little ahead of the Marneef caves, but we couldn’t fully explore the place as we didn’t have a 4x4.
Back to the Marneef Caves, it has awesome views to offer. The blow holes are amusing. The beaches near-by are abundant and nice to play, but please note that during our visit to the beaches we didn’t see any people swimming as the currents at all the beaches in Salalah looked quite strong.
The sound of the waves through the blow holes are sometimes quite scary.
Visit to Salalah and all it has to offer, is highly recommended only during the Khareef season ie., June to August.
This place was the most scenic among the rest in Salalah.

The scenery is great, waves and rough cut rocks are beautiful and the blow-holes are fun for kids and adults alike. The beaches near-by are abundant and nice to play.
One last thing - we loved the very clean bathrooms along the beach.

Hello
We are planning a 2 day trip to salalah. While there we plan to rent a car. What is the recommendation please? Should we hire a 4 Wheel drive or a normal car would do? We plan to visit the places listed on the things to do on trip advisor for salalah.
If anyone has a itinerary for 2 days kindly share that too. Thanks

I wanted to recommend some points:
If possible rent a car and drive your self its more fun. (850aed for 5 days 2016 Mazda 6 Sports Sedan) but i recommend you go with 4 wheel drive.
If you have 4 * 4 car its batter, you can go anywhere yourself and discover a lot of beautiful places like your privet property :))))
you must split the activist direction wise using google map to save traveling and time :
for example : Al Mughsail Beach-Marneef Cave - Al Fizayah Beach its on same side one direction. 1 day trip
another side : Wadi Darbat.---Sumhuram Old City--Teeq Cave and Tawi Ateer Sinkhole 1 or 2 days trips.
hope it this will help .Have a nice trip
