Visited this place as our cruise ship docked at Khasab. There was nothing much to do in the town really. Instead of joining the pricey excursion tours offered on the ship, we made our way down ourselves and negotiated a special rate with those private...More

A fortress right off the harbor, this place houses a nice collection of items, including food preparation equipment, clothing and uniforms, weapons, a fully decked-out school classroom, weapons, and more. You might need an hour to see it all. Worth every minute. We went there...More

Khasab Fort is a very good historical place to visit because it embodies the simplest basic form of Omani fortress architecture, as found throughout the entire country of Oman. The fort hosts a very interesting museum about the art of boat building of the inhabitants...More

An excellent location. Small but very well restored. Information in English and Arabic. A great way to start to understand this part of Oman - a must do trip in the town

I went here on my way home from a trip to Khasab. Well presented castle that has some great displays of historic artefacts. Not a huge place but well worth a visit

Its a small museum but nicely done. The castle is well preserved and the views are beautiful from the castle wall.

If you are in Khasab you are most likely there for a dhow cruise. If you have time, however, you should stop by the Khasab Castle. It is definitely worth a visit, although it won't take that long to go through it, maybe 30-60 minutes...More

We spent an enjoyable hour here. The weather was very hot but the main exhibits had air-con. Beautifully restored and very informative.

There is little to see in Khasab, and this is definitely top of the list. It is a 10/15 min walk from the cruise port so don't be tempted to take the shuttle. There are several exhibits in the courtyard and the central tower is...More

Questions & AnswersAsk a question
Does reaching the castle from the port involve much climbing? I have some breathing difficulties which make long steep hills rather difficult.

The walk from the port to the castle is completely flat and easy.
