The natural pool is a sheltered shallow lagoon with several small fringing coral reefs and one larger one in the midfle (about 8m by 5m). When I was there, there were over 100 tourists. No instructions on hour to behave are given, and I saw...More
Our hotel recommended to go to the pool, we had our little 12 months old in the carrier. It is such a lovely walk. 20 mins walking across the three and nature to reach this beautiful scenery. A must do on the island
We took a pirogue from Baie de st Joseph up Baie d’Upi to la piscine naturelle and enjoyed watching dolphins and flying fish as well as the gorgeous scenery and colourful waters. The piscine itself was cooler than expected and much of the coral was...More
This is a short walk from the Meridian. Get directions as lots of people miss it. You can snorkel see fish and corals. A must if you go to the Isle Of Pines. You don’t even have to snorkel to see the fish they will...More
We loved this spot- unbelievably beautiful. The walk from Le Meridien was initially confusing- don’t follow the dirt road, take the small path down to the waters edge. You will need to wade in the water for some of the way but it’s only mid...More
We got here at 9am and had the pool to ourselves for about half an hour or so. Then the crowds arrived. It is very popular!! The fish swim around you as you stand in the water. It was pretty awesome. Good for a shallow...More
La Piscine Naturalle is absolutely beautiful. You will get your feet wet on the walk to the pool so if you have reef shoes these are ideal. This is a great spot for children and non-confident snorkelers as you can see fish just walking into...More
I've snorkeled all over the pacific including the great barrier reef and this is the spot.
You won't spot much unless you are prepared to snorkel, but if you do you will be well rewarded. No hire available so bring your own gear or borrow...More

Hi there, you can drive to the location where it is (we hired a car for the day as you can drive around the Island in the whole day - the roads are really good) and you just park up and pay the entrance fee of (I think) $6nzd for 2 people and then you walk down a short path to this beautiful lake and then walk through that (there's a sign half way pointing to "Piscine Naturelle" which leads you to get to the path to the Naturelle Piscine and that's just a small bush walk - so once you get to the location it's all in walking distance :) ideally bring a wet bag for your items for when you are walking across that first lake in case anything drops.

Hi Margaret. You need to have francs on the Isle of Pines. There is a small charge of 250 francs each to visit the Piscine Naturelle I think this is levied by the local chief. There is nothing much to buy there a couple of ex pats run a small boutique selling t shirts, leather work and jewellery etc and one of them accepts credit cards but prefer local cash. There are two small grocery shops only accepting local currency. If you are visiting via a cruise ship the locals set up stalls selling all kinds of things and they seem to accept AUD. Enjoy your visit.
