We went to the museum on a cloudy day, and were thoroughly impressed. One could spend a couple of hours simply reading all the interesting facts about the fauna and flora of Namibia, or be mesmerised by the beautiful crystals on display. We spent a good two hours wandering through the museum, yet still we didn't manage to read single... More

Went there with young children aged between 6 and 11. They thoroughly enjoyed it especially seeing the way things used to be done l'ont time ago....an old dentists chair, typewriter and car collections. Would recommend it for young and old. You can make it a quick visit or take time to look through and read all they have. Cost about... More

The museum is well stocked, and worth a visit. The display range covers archeology, wars, Namibian people, wild life, German artifacts, sea creatures, etc. I missed pre-colonial life coverage. Hope as the museum improves, this will be prioritised.

A friendly & informative little Museum with plenty of historic, cultural, wildlife & Fauna displays (with multiple local/regional examples on display), a very nice way to kill a couple of hours in Swakopmund. There was a local school children visit taking place whilst we were there, which clearly displayed the Museums commitment to educating the younger generation to their cultural... More

Some interesting artifacts and displays depict the origins of Swakopmund and Namibia's history. Also on view is the various animals found in the vicinity. Maritime exhibits of particular interest.

A very well-put-together museum with lots of information on the area's history, culture, archeological significance and findings, fauna and insect info, transport history etc etc. I especially enjoyed the apothecary and dentist setting reproductions. Swakopmund has truly so much to be proud of, and this museum is a valuable addition to its tourism offerings.

Nice and neat, not expensive to enter and friendly staff. Kids loved it to see all the Old money and the way of living. Nice outing.
