The beach of Essaouira is indeed not for sunbathing, but if you are up for some kitesurfing, you have comed to the spot. The locals use it for family excursions and sundowners.

Clean beach - mostly - a lot of small plastic ocean pollution at the far end. It is very windy and you will burn without feeling hot. You can walk for miles and there are stunning views and friendly people. You can also do a...More

We spent two nights here. Optional tour to the beach with horseback riding available. Interesting city. Safe and secure.

The beaches are a shock to the system. Heaps of rubbish and pollution everywhere. We didn't even go on the beach. Lots of locals harassing you for camel rides and hash cakes.

Ok a beach is a beach. But this is a big and expansive beach and relaxing just to look at. Whats more if you fancy a beer while you're there its easy. I recommend the Bar Celon. Rooftop and civilised.
