this christian cemetry near the wall of the town of Essaouira is worth a visit. Please take your time to read the epitaphs. Here you can find the grave of mr Mertens, a famous interior designer who work for Sting and Madonna.

The cemetery is hidden behind a wall, 5 minutes outside the old city and opposite the Jewish cemetery. It's very shabby and in bad shape, but hey this is Morocco, it is shabby chic and that's its charm. It's also a bit quieter being walled...More

Strange to see a christian cemetery in a muslim country, so this is a door to the past. It has one section for British and one for everyone else... :-)
