This is a unique mosque using materials not normally seen on religious sites. It is also situated on the edge of a riverbank. The gold tint from the stained glass gives it a unique shimmer in the daytime. At night, the mosque and minerats are lit up in colors that change. I recommend coming late afternoon to dusk so you can see both the daytime and nighttime views. You can also take a boat ride at sunset along the banks of the river which passes the mosque to take photos from a different angle. This seemed like a popular thing to do as boats lined up along the mosque at sunset. There are many photo points since the mosque is part of a larger park with many attractions. You can walk along the balcony, on the grounds, and on a wooden walkway that is adjacent to the water to get photos. It could be better maintained, but still a sight to behold. It is free and they will give you a scarf to wear if you are female and want to go inside. There are a few stalls selling food next to the parking lot; they close around sunset. If you are headed to Redang, the ferry picks up nearby, making this an easy visit if you arrive early. If you take a Grab to the mosque/park, try to schedule a pickup if staying for the sunset. It took a while to get a Grab back into town since the mosque/park is a bit away from the heart of the city.

The Crystal Mosque is located in the city of Kuala Terengganu on the east coast of Malaysia.
Easily accessible by road, there are parking lots around. Open to non-Muslims, you must wear borrowed clothing to enter inside. The architecture is a bit reminiscent of the Wizard of Oz's palace, it is atypical because it is made of a mixture of steel and glass, hence its name.
Shops all around the mosque sell you just about anything and everything.
Remarkable for its design, this mosque is worth a look if you are in the area.
Free entry, obviously. Allow 30 min.

It is a mosque constructed between 2006 - 2008 from steel, glass and crystal located at the Islamic Heritage Park on the island of Wan Man. Be advised, due to the MCO visitors are not allowed inside and the lights are off at night.
However. It was still quite a sight! Do take a stroll around the vicinity as there are spots where you can grab instagrammable photos!

Currently under construction and no information about construction was on the website. Disappointing to travel 9 hrs to see the mosque and have it covered in construction scaffolding and not lit up at night. Many visitors and no one seemed to know about the construction.

This mosque had been known as one of the most visited attractions in Malaysia. There are mosque designed with different kind of creativity which is out of your imagination. The main mosque is the Crystal Mosque or known as Masjid Kristal. It will be full with colour during the night. It is a nice place to have a look with family and friends.

It's a beauty, and well worth making the time and effort to come see - relatively speaking of course, in line with the rest of your trip. Between the Crystal Mosque and the bridge, Terengganu was good to visit. The mosque is lovely, set in peaceful grounds, on the river, and very beautiful at sunset. Lovely friendly and welcoming people.

The surroundings and breeze was amazing in this mosque. The location was too good. But i was expecting a huge mosque like putra mosque but it was not that kind of huge. And i was also expecting that the lighting will be so strong at night but it was not that much powerful. Overall very good place to visit.

The uniqueness of this mosque comes from its interesting exterior design and it is coated with steel, glass and crystal. Also have souvenir and food stall at the mosque area. We can enjoy food and at the same time enjoyed the view of beautiful mosque. Good place to visit with family.

My hotel reception booked me a Grab car to bring me from my hotel to the Crystal Mosque. The Grab driver kindly waited for me for about 30 minutes while i took some photos of the Crystal Mosque and its surroundings. I could not view the inside of the Crystal Mosque due to it apparently being cleaned up, at the time of my visit. I found the islamic architecture of the Crystal Mosque to be quite beautiful and rather fascinating. Definitely worth a visit if one happens to be in Kuala Trengganu.

Quite a fascinating sight. The mosque is made is glass, steel and crystal, I believe. Situated in the Islamic Civilisation Park itself, it is nice to visit it and walk around the park. People actually fly kites in the park during evening time.
