You need very fertile imagination to accept the sculpture as hornbill. By the way, the Sarawak state bird is specifically the rhinoceros hornbill, not just any species of hornbill bird. Close to the James Brooke Café, there is a modern Hornbill statue fountain. It is a better art than the original cat statue. Rhinoceros Hornbill - is one of the Borneo Endemic rain forest birds. A real symbol of Sarawak, not a Fairy tale.

One of the symbolic place that you must take a photo with especially at night. They'll light up the fountains with colourful dancing lights

Didn't realise at first what this represented. Great structure lovely when water is flowing. Right next to James Brooks Bistro.

Walked past this modern looking sculpture during our exploration of the Kuching waterfront. Great photo opportunity and chance to look at an artist's interpretation of the hornbill, a local bird of Borneo. Very clever combination of art and culture. Don't miss this photo opportunity at...More
