You can see this building clearly from the opposite side of the river. Astana is the official residence of the Yang Dipertua Negeri Sarawak. A grand, big and quite an imposing landmark.

This building is located across the river. You can take the pictures of this building from the Kuching Waterfront. Or across the river by a public small boat to get other views. Just for information, behind this building, there is an orchid garden.

This place is not open to the public. Only open for government functions. The only thing you can do is to appreciate the building from outside the gates. It is located opposite the orchid garden.

The achitecture is castle like and makes for a nice focal point and landmark as you stroll along the Esplanade. We were told that it is gated not open to the public, so we admired it from afar.
