Lovely surroundings, at Damai Beach, this is a good way to spend 3 hours or more - but make sure you're there for the cultural / dance show at 11.30 / 4.30 (check these times). All the different Sarawak tribes and ethnic groups are represented...More

Worthwhile visit. All kinds of different types of houses fromt he different tribes. Many have people working in the displays, making weavings, frying cookies for sale and so on. Don't miss the show. It's entertaining and fun - but bring a sweater. The AC was...More

Unfortunately on the day that we went preparation were underway for the upcoming Rainforest Music Festival. The result was that pergolas and stands were being put up everywhere making it extremely difficult to take wide angled pictures of the village. One would have thought that...More

It was not at all tacky, but was well presented and very interesting. Don't pay for a tour of the music hut though. Not worth it at all - this was the only negative of the trip, but all else was really very interesting -...More

Amazing set up to see Sarawak culturally. When you arrive you are handed a passport which is stamped at each of the longhouses. Our guide was Desmond. Recommend you contact Desmond at the Sarawak Museum to assist on tours within and outer Kuching.

The village boasts a beautiful mountain backdrop and some nicely constructed buildings, but only the well-presented and entertaining show makes it a worthwhile experience. If you have time and energy, combine this together with Sanbutong trail or a stroll by the beach because there is...More

The price is a little too expensive but it worth to visit. All houses of each of the 7 tribes are well-presented. Our guide told us some interesting stories that we make us understand the tribes even better. Staffs there are very friendly. They are...More

I was fortunate to have a Kuching-dwelling friend and her son take me around this fantastic site, so I was able to have extra information on the different tribes whose houses are so authentically displayed in the grounds. Allow plenty of time, we were there...More

I was very skeptical at first about visiting a 'living museum'. Thought it would be boring. Boy was I so wrong. Got there via a shuttle bus from tour agency. U can find their posters at most hotels. We booked ours at Kuching waterfront lodge....More

You can book online directly on their website but like the rest, just turn up and buy your tickets at the entrance. Skip the buffet lunch - just breeze through the village then find a sumptuous lunch in town :0).

Hi NSEL, in one of the long houses you can pay a small fee and choose from 2 large racks of traditional wear and take pictures in it. Have fun!!
