Cool old historic building near the river. Nicely lighted at night. Not sure if visitors can go inside during the day, but it was closed when I passed by at night.

This place is architecturally pleasing. There is a decent small museum and places to eat and drink. This is opposite the waterfront.

This old court house served as the city's administrative center and is now transformed into Sarawak's tourism complex. There's usually something happening with art and outside entertainment performances. If not, wander around the peaceful verandahs.

Wonderful place, great cafe and vibes. Would recommend the Laksa and Nasi Goreng.

📍Old Court House, Kuching
This heritage building is so picturesque, photoshoots for graduations or weddings are often done here. Being the literal court house in past times, it now comprises of lush gardens with lovely cafes such as Commons & Roots and a Tourist information Centre.

It is nice to also stop here and check out this attractive heritage building which was finished in 1874. During our tour, we learned that the building housed government offices, including a printing office, and hosted state ceremonies while it was in use.
The design is colonial and there is a big veranda around it so you can just meander along if you want to take a break from the heat. Aside from the Visitor Information Center located here, this is also just a short walk away from other Kuching attractions such as the Brooke Monument and Square Tower.
We passed through the Commons Restaurant (located in this building) when we went to the other side to visit the Brooke Museum (aka the Ranee Museum). I think there was a discount for the latter attraction as we had visited Fort Margherita the other day.

Located a short walk away from the Kuching Waterfront is the charming colonial building of the Old Courthouse, built in the late nineteenth century as the centre for administration for customs, birth and deaths, land and survey departments. The architecture of this four sided building with internal green courtyard is beautiful, the walls and the large concrete pillars are painted white, with wide open wooden verandas and ceiling, it was a joy to explore. Within the complex is the Ranee Museum and a cafe/restaurant, best part it is free to wander around. We parked in the nearby Plaza Merdeka; inexpensive hourly parking fee.

It is very easy to find, being just on the Kuching esplanade. An old, white historical building , it has stood the test of time. Pleasant location, quiet in the shade of trees.We went here to see the Ranee Museum and there is a good bar/restaurant here too. Hopefully, more of the lots will be filled in time as this place as the ability to be more popular.

Just off the main Esplanade is the Old Court House. Although the façade gives you an idea of its architecture and history, it has now been converted into a cafe so its history is lost. But worth a quick visit.
