Well organised and interesting museum - mainly about Iban tribe textiles and traditional cloths. Exibition is set in a colonial building, which used to be first hospital in town, so worth a look even just for the architecture.

This is a very good museum for explaining how the local materials such as palm and rattan are made into various textiles for both building materials and weaving. There are several rooms each with a theme from different ethnic groups showing how collecting of materials, production, dyeing and then used. Models with variuos dress as well. Very well done and... This museum turned out to be far more interesting that expected. Housed within an old colonial building it contains wonderful examples of ethnic Iban weaving in cloth and palm leaves. The focus is mainly on the ethnic Iban people but there are also fine examples of Chinese, Malay and Indian textiles from Borneo. The museum is compact and you can... More

A small but very informative museum. If you are in the area and want a slice of history it is worth a look. Lots of information about traditional dress of the local indigenous people of Sarawak.

Small museum of just three floors; consists of textiles from the different cultures in Malaysia, especially the indigenous tribes. The museum does look a little run down and could use some work, but still worth a look for those interested in local textiles and their cultural significance. After all, it is air conditioned and admission is free.

It is located near a shopping mall, the post office and quite near carpenter street. I loved the warm greetings of the staffs there and they were very nice in answering questions, even questions that are not related to the museum. There were not much things though, but the building seems similar to British style buildings and it is rather... More

This is a textile museum located side by side with Kuching Waterfront, The Old Courthouse, The Brookes Memorial, and The Square Tower. All are within minutes of walking distance. There is no entrance feel to visit the museum.
