Very pretty

Worth jumping on the boat to cross the river to these pretty gardens. Walked around for about 30mins. Free entry as well.

We cross the Sarawak river from the Kuching city using local boat which costed us 1 RM per ride. The place is not away from the Astana with a couple minutes walk from the pier. It is an interesting place to visit because the place gathers many types of orchids and other tropical plant.

It's an outdoor garden with some covered corridors. To avoid the heat it's best to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon. Only 5 minutes walk from the boat jetty. The orchids are quite nice but varieties are not diversified enough. Still a pleasant stroll, an hour is enough as the garden is not large. Must put... More

We only spent a short time here but it is free and the Orchids are beautiful. If you love photography or orchids this is heaven for you. A beautiful spot to spend a morning or afternoon.

I am not really into flowers and gardening, that is the domain of my partner. However, as she has been too unwell to leave the hotel for the past 3 days I thought that I should visit on her behalf and take loads of pictures for her to view. Well I was blown away, it was fantastic. Easy to follow... More

A great collection of really beautiful orchids species found in the tropics. The garden is neatly laid out with walkways and big trees for shade. They hold orchids competition from time to time and some of the rarest orchids would be on dislay at their greenhouse. easy access from the city centre. just a short sampan ride and a short... More

Visited on a hot and humid day so a cold drink and ice cream at the neat cafe was welcome. Very well set out display of many orchid varieties. Impressive orchid house with vast array of orchids. Great for macro photography.

If you love orchids you shoud go to the garden. But even trip it self is interesting - crossing the river with interesting boat. Just wait for some passingers and it costj 1 ringgit.

The orchid garden is located across the river behind the palace/Astana and beside the legislative building. It is easy to get to by ferry although the challenge is to find the right sampan Pier on Jalan Main Bazaar to cross from. I was sent to 2 wrong ones before finding the right one which is next to the jail /... More

We were there when everything wasn't in bloom but it is a good place to take a morning or afternoon stroll. There were plenty of trails and plants to see there and would have been lovely to see the blooming flowers.
