We stayed at Nanga Sumpa for 2 nights. Our guide Bayang was very nice and helpful but we felt sorry for him, they need to keep you happy although they know you will not see any wildlife, just 2 mangy cats and a few under nourished dogs hanging around. The guides told us that it is Iban hunting ground and... More

The rivers can be shallow so may have toget out so can push boat over stones before getting back in. We lovedthe river travel as did our 21+25 yr old. This is a village... More

We went on a tour with Borneo Eco tours and we had a very good experience. The nature and the lake is stunning and the stay at batang ai longhouse resort was nice. We also visited the Iban people one day, we walked around in their village and we also had lunch with the longhouse chef. We recommend this tour... More

If u like eco-enviroment, surrounded by rainforests, sound of birds and inserts, clear rapid streamwater full of flesh water fishes, then this is a place u cannot miss in sarawak. As my sister put it precisely, this place is " heaven on earth". The only challenge is going there. To reach Ulu Batang Ai, u need to chartered a long... More

Visited and stayed one night before going on to Lubok Kasai jungle camp. Nanga sumpa lodge was on the river and next to the Iban village. The tribe are busy rebuilding their longhouse after a fire. Our guide took us around the village and introduced us to many villagers. Our trip out from the quay was by longboat and of... More

Our trip to Nanga Sumpa brought us into a magical world of primary rainforest, pristine unlogged rivers and crytal clear Ensualai Falls where you have fish nibbling at your calluses and corns as you soak! The Ulu Ai area is classified as 'high conservation value' and therefore can only be accessed through Borneo Adventure. The latter have a long term... More

This trip started with a longboat ride from the Hilton Batang Ai across the lake to one of the Iban tribe's longhouses. Were given drinks and watched traditional dancing before we were invited to join in ourselves. We were taken in small groups into their living areas and helped cook the lunch (they did all the hard work though). We... More

Whaw this is the best part of south Sarawak... drive to the jetty at the dam and smoothly in longboats over the lake into the jungle under a perfect blue sky... it feels like heaven on earth! Make an arrangement with Borneo Adventure tours and visit a longhouse to have a taste of the Iban life and their famous ricewine... More

Bug infested, bad food, lazy staff, horrid rooms, uncomfortable beds, pillows like stones, very very limited electricity, this place is disgusting. If there were a health department it would be closed down. Avoid it at all costs. If you want to visit Batang Ai then choose the Long House on Batang Ai Lake run by Hilton. They offer excellent tours... More

I went to the Nanga Sumpa lodge with my wife for a three day, two night stay, booked through Borneo adventure in May and loved it. The trip involved a 5 hour drive in a minibus, then a two hour long boat ride across the Batang Ali reservoir and the associated river system, with the river initially wide and deep, but by... More
