    Beautiful sunset and snack food
We went there specifically to see the beautiful sunset. It did not disappoint. It was beautiful just as all the photos others have taken. The street food there was of course tourist priced but not too bad. There was a lot people there during sunset and often the traffic is slow. So plan ahead to reach early to catch the setting sun and get Grab ride to leave. Grab rides are so easily available in KK and the locals give good advice on where to eat.

    Beautiful beach
Superb beach , excellent natural backdrop of KK islands , you may see many water activities going on here. When we went there , probably 2-3 tourist around 10.30am. Clear sand, walk barefoot and your feet will have massage. Water is clear.

    Boring Beach, Fun Night Market
Tanjung Aru beach disappointed. We were told that you get the best sunset photos from here, but the night was overcast and there were too many people on the beach! Just inland from the beach is the Night Market, which was lots of fun. It had great food options - Malay cuisines, cold drinks, fruits, ice cream - all were delicious and well priced! If in KK, visit the night market but remember to negotiate if you are buying items (not food).

    Sun Tanjung Aru
The mesmerising view of the sun is beyond words. Even though we have been to many parts of the world, to each beauty, its own. The clear sea brings out the captivating colours and feel of nature. Come and feel the ambience.

Reputed to have the greatest sunset on earth.
We visited briefly during the heat and high humidity of the day, very few people present, looked like a few local children playing and enjoying some beach snacks. One was vainly trying to fly his kite with not a whisper of wind. The main attractions are nearby. Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, the Golf Club, the Yacht Club, State Library and Perdana Park. I can only rate my visit as 3*, back on the high seas for sunset and it was a sight with the sun sinking like a flaming golden disc.

    Sunsets 🌅 time
Original plan was sunset on the beach but there were clouds and few drops or rain 🌧️ it should be great if it is clean sky. Many people, tourists, students, parents with kids, stroking on the beach or sitting and enjoying local specialities. Parking place available but really full when leaving

The sunsets may be amazing but we went in the morning to bird watch. This is the only place to see the blue napes parrots and several other birds that visit this park in the morning.

The sunset at Tanjong Aru Beach paints the sky in a breathtaking palette of warm hues, with the sun gracefully descending, casting a golden glow upon the tranquil sea. Silhouettes of palm trees and the distant horizon create a serene and picturesque scene.A must visit place if you visit Kota Kinabalu.

The filthiest, saddest beach I have ever visited. It smells like raw sewage with an open drain ditch all around the parking area, which appeared to contain sewage and drain water. Garbage everywhere, and even a dead rat next to the picnic area. I didn’t even want to take off my sandals. Left immediately and just went to the hotel pool. Sad and horrible.

Visited here with my fiance. Has the potential to be a really nice beach but it absolutely baffles me how in 2023 people are still littering. The beach is covered in bottles, used cups, straws, polystyrene boxes from food and much more. It would be good for local officials to organise a clean up or put more signage/fines for people littering. My fiance cleaned up the small area we were sitting beside. See pictures of what came from a very small area.

Tg Aru Beach used to be a lovely place while I was growing up, where you can drive-thru, park the car under the Aru trees, next to food stalls and coconut vendors, sugarcane vendors etc..
Sadly, now it's just a messy place with unusable BBQ pits, spoiled tables/chairs, uneven walkways, unsightly marquees and uncollected litter. While I was there early in the morning around 6.15am, even though it was breezy, there were tons of sand flies, so please bring along bug spray.. Prince Philip Park is totally out of service, which is supposed to be a public park.
