We were met by Pat at the organised time. We then went on a tour of the main sites around the city including the floating mosque for photos (we didn't go inside) and up to Signal Hill Observatory for a great view of KK. Next stop was to the Handicraft market for some shopping then on to the fresh produce... More

Pat was friendly, reliable and great company. he took us to the local markets and we were so fortunate to meet such genuinely friendly people, not one person hassled us, we were greeted by smiles and warmth, the people in Borneo are truly lovely. They take such pride in their produce, everything is displayed so beautifully . After we bought... More

Pat met our group of cruisers at the port entrance. He took us to a farmer's market where he explained different types of vegetables, spices & other foods. After checking out fish market he shared a lot of local history as he drove us to his mother's restaurant. She shared several cooking tips and we helped prepare a chicken dish... More

We were very happy with the fabulous service and food experienced. Pat was away so his sister Melina picked us up and took us to the markets in KK to buy some fresh supplies of food and seafood before heading out of town to their mother's restaurant. What a character, she entertained us while we prepared two dishes together and... More

What a day! Our host picked us up from the hotel and took us back to the food markets in KK where he guided us thru the maze of local foods and spices all the time keeping us amused with his local knowledge. We then ventured into the seafood markets where we learnt the difference between good & bad quality... More

A really fantastic day spent with Pat and his lovely family. Pat (and his little boy Kimmi) collected us directly from our hotel and took us to the market where he showed us traditional meat, fish, vegetables, herbs and spices. Such an experience and well worth a visit whether on tour or travelling alone. We then drove to his mother's... More

From the moment Pat picked us up we immediately felt like family. His little boy Kimi was with him too and we chatted all the way to both local Fruit & Veg and fresh Fish Markets. These were amazing, the spices, coffee, teas and exotic fruits and then the unusual fishes and crabs took our breath away. Once we had... More

Found this activity through positive reports on trip advisor. Wife, 12 year old daughter and friends were picked up on time by guide Pat who speaks perfect English and has a sense of humour to boot. Off they went to the market where Pat explained local produce and spices then it was off to his mum, Hajah Halima's restaurant where... More

What a phenomenal experience. Pat picked us up from our Hotel, on time, and took us to the markets to collect the fresh produce we would be using to cook our wonderful lunch! He then drove us to his mother, Halimah's, restaurant. She helped us prepare. and showed us what went into an authentic malaysian meal. It was absolutely magnificant... More
