This is a brilliant temple in little India. We were lucky to visit on a special day when the bring out the god in a chariot pulled by two bulls. Thousands of people followed the chariot singing. It was great.

I passed by this temple several times during my visit of Penang. My goal was to compare it with the 2 related temples I saw recently when I was in Singapore. No luck, just took pictures of its outside roof areas full of gods and goddesses.

Nice colourful temple on Queen Street at Llittle India area. Can plan your visit with breakfast here. Opposite the temple there is a row of Indian Muslim shop selling indian breakfast, roti canai and chapatti etc.The temple has its own beutiful view for the day time visit and a night time lighted view.

Built in 1833, the Sri Mariamman Temple has features of sculptures of gods and goddesses over its main entrance and is located at Lebuh Queen, Georgetown. We politely ask for permission from a priest and entered the temple; which was beautifully decorated. The temple is open daily from 6.30 am - 12.00 noon and 4.30 pm - 9.00 pm.

Had trouble finding the temple, as we did not realize it was the building under renovations covered in tarpaulins. Cross it off your list for now, maybe next time.

Nothing to see here. Tarpaulins covering everything. Even peeking inside it doesn't look too special. No point in wasting time for a special visit, and hardly worth the effort of stopping as you explore the vicinity.

This temple is tiny and feels more like a miniature of a real south Indian temple than anything important. I looked inside and it didn't seem any more interesting than the facade. Even when open this place likely would tale less than a minute or two in your tour of Little India

I was sorry to see that this beautiful Hindu temple was not really accessible to tourists since it was being renovated..should be completed by April 2016 However there was still some morning pujas being performed when we went inside and the brahmin offered us to participate in the darshan, very nice gesture on his part and we truly appreciated being...
