Beach is located around Teluk Nipah which are lined with over crowded stalls on both sides of the road. Plenty of stalls selling local Malay cuisine and beach accessories. Not an ideal place for relaxing

Loved our time at coral beach
Idyllic setting
Highly recommend.
Far better than the Maldives in my opinion
All the staff were amazing.
Nothing ever too much trouble and always smiling.
I have never been to anywhere else where the staff were so wonderful.
Thank you xxx

Not bad but definitely i would not book this hotel next time. It was so crowded and everything looks messy at the first glance but it had a frindly and helpful staff.
The breakfast was like a typical maly an chines breakfast, but the good things about the hotel, It is located next to a big supper market ( bear) and duty free ( dont be happy , only can find chocolate no liquor).

We hated it. 99% of the people were muslim that were staring at us being western. Everyone was swimming fully clothed so we didn't feel we could dress in swimwear. There were nappies on the beach. Stay away

This is one stop center for snorkeling. Package cost around RM80-RM120 per boat. The location and island hoping is provided by the package provider at the beach. One of the key points is to check the snorkeling equipment given to you and test it at the beach before went to the coral island. Since its bit hot, bring water and lotion to avoid sun burn.
The colourfull Coral is bit less, nevertheless, the fish is around here. Bring roti to attract fish around you. Ensure do not bring many valuable items since you need to place the bag around here before snorkeling.

I'm originally from Terengganu and I found the beaches at Pangkor are pretty sad. But Coral beach is probably the best. Less disruption of boats so you can swim more peacefully here compared to Teluk Nipah beach. I guess not many knows how to get there as the beach is somewhat hidden.
Just walk about 400m from Teluk Nipah via the main road until you see Daddy's Cafe. Kayak is not available at the Teluk Nipah due to crazy busy beach but you can find it here, RM15 for 1 hour. You can enjoy some western food at Daddy's cafe too if you're hungry. A bit pricey compared to Teluk Nipah but more proper and yummy.

The best stretch of sands opened to the public on the once idyllic island of Pangkor happens to be the Coral Beach or also known as "White Sand Beach". However it is clearly evident that this stretch of white sand suffers from the effects of over-tourism and poor maintenance. There are just too many guesthouses, beach chalets and hawkers on the stretch. If you thought that you could have some relaxing time, I bet the sounds of the jetskiis and speedboats scouring the waters fronting the beach will prove you wrong. Not to mention some speedboats even dangerously zoom up the beach and potentially could cause injury to passers by. Don't even bother going into the waters to search for corals because there aren't any corals left; you can only see fragments of dead corals lying on the beach. To make things worse, the green waters surrounding Pangkor are very murky and visibility is very poor. The tour operators there heavily promote the small island called Pulau Giam (Coral Island) located just offshore Coral Beach, but I will say its a big con job and don't even bother going there as you will be disappointed big time with only floating rubbish to see instead of colorful corals! It is sad that Pangkor island suffers the effects of not well planned tourism and the over development of the natural beaches there is suffocating and depressing for the nature lover to watch.

Coral beach is probably the most popular beach for tourist in Pangkor. It is clean with waterfront restaurants. There are many sports around for you to take part in but the beach is not overcrowded with boats.

It is clear the locals only care about profit. The place is absolutely disgusting. Its field with plastic bag and rubbish. The people visiting there do not differentiate their toilet and a public beach. There are a lot of dead fishes there and tourists are ruining the area. We had a TERRIBLE time there.
If you care for the nature, please do not go to this place , do not contribute to the destruction of the ecosystem.

On arrival at Pangkor Island, we stayed at a chalet at Teluk Nipah and I roamed around the vicinity and explored a little Buddhist temple near the Nipah Beach before venturing down the fine pristine beaches to soak myself in the water at the Coral Beach.
This is one of the best and finest beaches I had come across, The turquoise sea water sparkled under the scorching sun with beautiful and gorgeously long silky haired Caucasian girls in colorful bikinis lying on the fine beach and walking in seductive postures among the many naturally large grey rocks.
As it was low tide, I was able to scale between the huge rocks that blocked the way from Nipah Beach to Coral Beach. It was a tranquil and serene sight overlooking a tiny island. A stretch of sandy brown patch of path appeared between the main island to the tiny island and picnickers were seen walking across to that tiny island. It was marvelous and amazingly awesome. I was not only physically half immersed in the seawater as I tried to cross to the tiny island but I was almost lost and mesmerized by the serenity and tranquility of this paradise island.
It was rejuvenating to the soul to be able to take respite from the hustle and bustle of the city life and drowned myself in the peaceful and serene environment far from the madding crowd. I sat on one of the rocks and looked far into the horizon. I saw seagulls flying far and high, heard the joyful giggle and laughter of those running and playing in the sea. It was a beautiful sight and the memories of that two days on the island remained etched on my brain.
I rode on the motorcycle driven by my brother in law to explore the Dutch Fortress and the Fo Ling Gong Buddhist Temple but was timely to return to the beach to witness the beautiful and awesome sunset. It was so natural and time seem to come to a stop and I saw the balance of nature and man in that serene and tranquil moment.
I love Pangkor Island. I love Coral Beach.

Going there next January 2020. Anyone have any recommendations on hotel or airbnb? It’s been more than 20years since my last visited..

I have only been to 1 hotel in Pangkor and that is Anjungan beach resort at Nipah Bay. On this stretch of the island, Anjungan Beach Resort has the most decent appearance as a hotel. Still looks new although it has been 10 years in operation. There are a few foreigners checking in but mostly local people with family. (School holiday). The neighbouring beach at Coral bay is nice and clean. There is one small hotel but does not appeal to me. Other hotels around here is really budget type local hotel.
There are bigger newer hotels at Pasir Bogak but they are closer to Pangkor town and abit busy. A few are under construction.
Hope this helps

Hi "Fathin": I am not sure what you mean by "water activity"...
a. if you mean "high waves"--- the answer is NO!! The nearby offshore islands provides substantial protection against "high waves"/rough seas...
b. if you mean activities such as taking a boat to the nearby Island [Giam].... then the answer if "yes"!!
c. If you mean activity with the nearby food/Hawker stalls... then again the answer is yes---mmoreso on the weekends.
I hope that this is not confusing--- but rather "helpful"...

Wat is de beste manier on vanuit Kuala Lumpur naar Pangkor te gaan?
Written 4 August 2017
If you like the exercise, there are bicycle rentals in e.g. Pankor Village. Furthermore you can also rent a scooter. It all depends on what you want to do on Pulau Pangkor and how much time you have available. Most of the time we took a taxi (the pink ones) that are stationed at the jetty and close to Pangkor Sandy Beach Resort. You can also use the taxi for an island trip and you'll be able to visit many of the sites that the island has to offer. Be sure to negotiate the taxi fare and rates up front. That will keep you from surprises. In our experience the taxidrivers are more than willing to give you a roundtrip across the island. Please note that most of the taxis are not equiped with airco. Instead they do facilitate fans in the ceiling. Just hang in there and stay cool.

Not sure. Check with the various owners along the beach. That would be cool wouldn't it?

is coral beach suitable for snorkelling with small kids?
Written 20 January 2016
well..there will be life jackets for kids.. there is a large sandy area for ur kids to play and with bread fishes will come.. so not an issue.. but do keep in mind there is no place to wash up.. and you need to be by your kids as there are huge rocks and they are slippery and easy to get hurt..
