There are two ways to the mossy forest. One is by the somewhat pot-holed winding road up Gunung Brinchang and the other by hiking up trail No. 1. Once there you will be rewarded with lovely views, cool fresh air and exotic vegetation. Misty in the mornings and evenings, these are the best times to visit as there are less... More

Mossy Forest, Brinchang, is a good outdoor visit while in Cameron Highland. However, access is not good, recommend to use 4-wheel drive, bur normal car can access.

We started optimistic from the Boh Plantation the road up to Mossy Forest. After 5 minutes driving the road became already very steep, narrow and extremely bad maintained. We encountered a number of landrovers descending already from an early trip. The road became very difficult to drive due to the many deep holes, narrow curves and sometimes very steep parts.... I was very surprised when I arrived to discover that there was a wooden pathway to follow into the forest, but I think it's a good way to protect the place regarding the number of persons who are going there! If you go deeper into the forest, the wooden path stops and you can really walk directly in the forest.... More

Remember to bring warm clothing, a jacket or windbreaker. Me and my friends reached the entrance at around 7.30am and were shivering because we didn't think it would be that cold, it didn't rain the night before but it was very cold. Make sure to have good trail/hiking shoes with good grip, the trail is wet and muddy. Occasionally fog... More

Driving to the Mossy Forest is an adventure in itself. You'll come up through relaxing tea plantations and beautiful forest. The road at time can be challenging, but nothing any hire car can't handle. There are not many signs showing you the way to go, so don't be afraid to ask for directions from friendly locals along the way. Once... More

“I don’t like going to the Mossy Forest,” our driver intoned, never taking his eyes off the view directly ahead through the windshield. “The road is bad. Very bad.” That was, at best, an understatement. At times it seemed it was nothing more than a glorified footpath clinging precariously to a precipitously rising hillside, with dense jungle on one side,... More

Do not drive up there if you have a private car that isn't a four wheel drive. The road up is only a small single lane road with a lot of hidden potholes on the sides. Tricky to maneuver. It is NOT meant for two-way traffic, but there is no signage to warn the vehicles at the foot of the... More

Magical place in the heights of the Malaysian highlands. Impressive how the daylight creates a wizardry hue in the whole forest.
