the name "Butterfly Garden" doesn't cover it all. the first part is indeed a Butterfly Garden, and that was beautiful. Then there was a second part and that was like a little zoo with alot of animals and some of these animals are lliving in a small cage....so it was a visit with mixed feelings

A fair price if you frame your expectations within what the local population can do. I have already been to a "zoo" or something similar in the region several times. This was the best so far, but in terms of environment and animal welfare it is difficult to compare it with the standards set in Europe. Expect little, be surprised and be aware that the locals make do with what they have.

We went there, the two of us, to see the magnificat Malay butterfly's. However the covered garden was rather small and the number of different species was rather limited.
The acces fee was RM 7 for adults. We visited the garden 20 min. All in all no a cheap visit.

Unfortunately, this isn't just a butterfly garden but also a small zoo. There are many animals (both exotic an domestic) kept there in cages that are way to small for them and some of the animals are in a terrible condition. They are missing patches of fur and look completely lifeless. It's such a shame to see al these beautiful creatures being kept in such horrible conditions. Please don't support this place by buying a ticket. If we had known it wasn't just a butterfly garden but also a small zoo we would have never gone in!

Was a bit skeptical before going there because of the reviews here but it is actually one of the best activities we did for our child. The area is very big , there are a lot of butterflies flying around but you can also see snakes, gecko, sheep, rabbits and other animals.
Therefore it is recommended to visit this place especially if you have a kid.
Plus the entrance is very affordable, RM 10 per adult (and free below 3y old)

We were there as part of a tour. We assumed we would only see butterflies there. Unfortunately, a large number of animals are kept there in very poor conditions. I could hardly bear to walk past the much too small, unloved cages (with many dead animals!!!) and was annoyed that I had visited this place!
Clearly recommend skipping this place on tours!

Don't go here! A lot of animals where kept in unethical conditions such as small cages or badly suited environments such as cages with concrete floors. We’ve seen kids chasing rabbits in groups to pick them up to then drop them on the floor. There was no staff to correct them (nor where the parents doing anything about it).

I really can't understand the negative reviews here. Entrance fee is 15 MYR / 3 euros. There aren't just butterflies inside, but also insects, small animals, fish. There is a lot to see and it was very interesting. The enclosures were clean, the animals had food everywhere, the park/small zoo made a very good impression.

Such an awful and depressing place! We visited it as part of the tour and everyone on our tour came out feeling sick and depressed. The animals are kept in disgusting conditions and look in bad health and like they have given up on life. Shame on the tour companies for taking people there. It should be shut down!

We have been with my friends thinking of seeing only butterflies. We found many dead on the floor at the opening. So the staff is not even cleaning before the visitors arrive. Then we saw a cat in a cage, flying squirrels getting crazy because of the lake of space, rabitts in very bad conditions and most probably very sick...I could write a lot about all the bad stuff I have seen there and it broke our hearts. PLEASE do not be like us. DO NOT Go, don't give money to people that they are not able to take care of animals. I didn't want to take pictures so I won't publish any here.
