This memorial to those who died in WW2 is very well maintained and the cemetery is quiet and peaceful. The Remembrance Day ceremonies are held here every year. The staff who maintain the memorial park are to be commended. Also thanks to the Malaysian government and the Malaysian Armed services for their help. A special thanks to the U.K. war graves commission for their support.

Memorable visit again here with my family. The cemetery is well-maintained, my daughters that came here this time didn't remember they were here 5 years ago. But good experience to show them part of our piece of history.

Made the trip to Labuan from KK to visit the Commonwealth War Graves Memorial. To me it's important to visit these places and honor those who gave their lives during war. So very many unknowns, mostly recovered from along the Sandakan Death March Route.
Truly a moving experience.
I stood there alone, no one else visited that day, and cried rivers for them all .
Taxi driver said he couldn't remember when he last took an Australian to visit.
That's wrong, plain wrong
May they sleep in peace

A place not to be missed while you in Labuan. Late afternoon maybe the best time to visit this place, very nice green grass and peaceful.

A tranquil place to reflect on the lives lost to make this world a better place. Immaculatle and beautifully kept, well worth an hour of your time if in this part of the world. RIP

Labuan is a tax free city but other than that it is a place for reflecting on the nature of war. I visited the war memorial on the island which is a few kilometres from town centre. After walking for half an hour you hit upon a green piece of land where thousands of soldiers were buried there. The place, like other war memorials elsewhere, offers visitors a chance to reflect and ponder about the nature of war: so many youths sacrificed. War is not to be glorified. In human history there have been over 3000 wars in a span of 5000 years of human civilization.
After the visit, do try the sea food restaurant nearby; the one in the hotel offer inexpensive buffet ( you will not miss it as you are walking up or down the slope; it is a five star hotel where good buffet offering lobsters, fish etc are offered)

Friends and recently went to pay our respects to those that lost their lives during World War II at the Labuan War Memorial and Cemetery.
A very worthwhile visit and also very a moving experience. Their are many Australian, NZ and Indian from different regiments who lost their lives defending Labuan buried there also a lot of unmarked graves.
A very worthwhile visit if you have the time to pay your respects to many of the military who have paid the ultimate price for the freedoms we have today. 3905 in total.

For me, this is the best place in Labuan. Very well maintained. Take your time to read the inscriptions on the individual grave. It is so humbling and touching. Will definitely come to Labuan again just for this.

As a grandson of one of the men commemorated there I couldn't have asked for a better experience. The cemetery is immaculate - a peaceful, fitting setting to mark their service and sacrifice.
