- BridstowPeterborough, United Kingdom1,005 contributionsIncredible viewsWe enjoyed our visit to the sky bridge despite the changing weather from clear skies to overcast and misty. The ascent / descent in the cable car is rapid and offers fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding areas. With good visibility you can see for kilometres / miles around. The sky bridge may not be for those of a nervous disposition or fear of heights but we would recommend giving it a go. Our visit entailed taking the cable car to the main stopping point, then walking down the many steps to the sky bridge to beat the queue for the furnicular rail car. Having spent time in the bridge enjoying the views we did take the rail car back up. From there we took the steps up to the other vantage points but by then the clouds had closed in. Regardless of this we enjoyed the experience. We couldn’t see any advantage in paying for the VIP experience. As there were only two of us we found that we got called forward to fill places in a cable car to ensure they were full (they seated six).Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 October 2023
- travelmaven_7Los Angeles, California4,136 contributionsHighly recommended for a visit to LangkawiVisiting the Skybridge was at the top of my "things to do" list while visiting Langkawi. I took Grab there from my hotel. It was about a 30-minute ride. It was about a 15-minute walk through the village to get to the entrance. There were no lines. I bought my ticket, and within minutes, I was in a gondola up to the top. I want to note that the Skycab ride payment is only for the Skycab. Once you get to the top, you have to pay another fee to get to the Skybridge. I mistakenly got off at mid-station. I took some pictures of the views and got back on to the top. I thought it was going yo be a short walk to the Skybridge. But later found out you have to pay a separate fee to go down to the Skybridge in either a funicular, which they call a Skyglide, or walk down 334 steps. I chose to walk. It was a nice walk in the rainforest. It was cool because it had been raining lightly. The Skybridge was great, and the views were magnificent. I highly recommend this activity. There is a lot of walking involved once you get to the top.Visited November 2023Travelled soloWritten 13 November 2023
- PeaceLover16Singapore, Singapore129 contributionsA Must Experience in LangkawiIt's a must do while you are at Langkawi. We took glass flooring gondola. The glass is not really clear anymore for us to see thru below but we get to go on express lane. Amazing view. Lots of staff to manage the queue. Totally recommend this ride.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 November 2023
- Ann JSingapore, Singapore3 contributionsLangkawi PanoramaWe didn't get to see the complete panorama of Langkawi because it was cloudy when we got to the top of the mountain. However, the views from the top were fantastic. A wonderful adventure with breathtaking vistas of Langkawi. We were given expedited tickets. The skyglide up to the bridge was the only thing that required our attention as we waited. Although we were forced to wait for some time at the summit before the clouds could be seen, the wait was well worth it.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 20 November 2023
- Barry OLondon, United Kingdom269 contributionsMust do in LandkawiStunning views and lovely experience. Simply a must do in Langkawi. The cable car is a great ride and we used the skyglide too although there are long queues for this as there is only 1 cabin, easier to walk to the skybridge if you can. The skybridge is fabulous and great for photos.Visited December 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 December 2023
- ICJCMJMawson Lakes, Australia48 contributionsMt Machinchang, Langkawi view is AwesomeGondolas were clean. Views were beautiful as you ascend Mt. Machinchang to the middle station. You even get a glimpse of Seven Wells Waterfall. Get off at the middle station for awesome views of the mainland & surrounding islands. At the top station enjoy the views & landscape as wander across the sky bridge & stand on the clear glass flooring, look down below to appreciate just how high up you have traveled. The Skyglide, not so exciting. Basically it’s a one track singular funicular that holds approx. 10 people at a time. You will need a seperate ticket to ride the Skyglide or better still for free you can walk leisurely down along the nature trail & back up again. No waiting in the small cramped area, lining up in the heat, sun or other weather conditions the tropics experience.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 December 2023
- Floortje F76 contributionsStunning views, great adrenaline boost, come early!Great to do, lovely views! Goes as following. Buy a ticket online at the SkyCab website directly. It wasn’t possible at the time to buy a Cab only ticket, only a package which cost €17 pp. If you want to arrive after 10/1030 ‘invest’ in a fast lane ticket (extra €10 pp) as well. Get a Grab to the Oriental Village, then a small 5/10 min walk through a ‘park’ with shops, toilets, ATM and restaurants. Queue 1 for pick up tickets (even if you bought them online or go to counter 6), queue 2 to enter Cab waiting line, then of course the Cab waiting line itself. Here your fast lane ticket comes in handy. With the cableway go to the middle station for a view. Then enter another queue (with fast lane option) for second cable way part. When getting off immediately buy your ticket for the bridge on the left (€3, maybe need to wait in line again). Option to go with the elevator or by stairs. If you are in normal condition; choose the stairs +/- 300 steps (10min). Saves you a queue (without fast lane option) and the elevator is nót spectacular. The bridge is really cool. Much bigger, wider and steadier than for example Curtis Crest treetop (Penang) but so much higher and great views! Glass floor plates nice final touch. Then back in the queue again if you choose the elevator, and then again for the cableway to go down. This only took us 5 min. To be fair, we went on a Friday during school holidays, arrived at 930 and the longest wait was for the elevator to go to the bridge and back. But when we left around 12/1230 it was chaos! So come early and/or outside school holidays. Great attraction either way!Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 December 2023
- KellyGlasgow, United Kingdom43 contributionsAmazing views.Looks like a theme park. The ticket to the skycab takes you up two levels. Get off at the first one to go to the viewing playforms for some great photos then back on again to the next level. The skybridge costs extra but not much. Plenty of places to eat. Toilets cost 1 ringit - try to have small bills cos that helps.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 January 2024
- FOXYSKIPangbourne, United Kingdom1,070 contributionsGreat morning out.Great morning here, fab views from the top too. Paid a little extra for express lane and a glass bottom Cabin, which was definitely worth it as we had it to ourselves. In some of the non express & non special cabins visitors were being pretty packed in! Would recommend.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 10 January 2024
- iitravelBrisbane, Australia681 contributionsStunning views if the weather is favourableThe Skycab (Gondola) ride takes you to the top of the mountain with a stop where you get off to take in some of the views before getting back on a cable car to continue to the top. Arrived shortly before the ticket office opened in the morning and only a short queue Purchased a ticket with a glass floor gondola to avoid possible queues and this gets you in the express lane as well. There is also no time restriction on this ticket it can be used anytime on the date the ticket has on it. Waited about 10mins and shared the gondola with 5 others on the first section , 2 others on the second section to the top and had the gondola to myself on the way back down. Don’t book the glass bottom gondola for an exceptional view through the glass on the floor as the glass is scratched due to shoes, fogs up if very humid and with 6 passengers you are looking past other people’s legs and feet and hand luggage. Views over the tree canopy and a waterfall or two if they are flowing can be seen through the windows of the gondola. Upon reaching the top for a small additional cost you can visit the sky bridge by either walking down and then back up again along a track or use the funicular at a cost. As others have mentioned the wait for the funicular can be lengthy, so walking may be the best option. The Skybridge gives some impressive views over smaller islands and back towards the Pantai Cenang and over tree canopy to the ocean. It also has three glass panels that you can stand on (shoes must be taken off to avoid scratching the glass) Make sure you only go when the weather is good otherwise you may see little of the view and the Skybridge is also closed during strong winds. A few eateries available at the top including an ice cream vendor and toilets with the main food areas around the area where you buy your tickets. The garden and park area as you enter before walking up to the ticket area was poorly maintained and in need of some maintenance. If you don’t have your own transport best way to get there is a fixed price cab and when it’s time to return a cab area is located just outside in the same area where you got dropped off. Definitely worth a visit, the amount of time you spend there will depend on the queues, the weather and your own interest in taking in the views.Visited January 2024Travelled soloWritten 12 January 2024

This place offers really nice views.
A few things to take note:
If possible, avoid weekends. If you are taking the evening ride, do take note that the crowd starts to build up after 3.30pm.
If you are buying tickets, do ensure that you receive a QR code for your ticket. apparently, their ticketing system only registers QR codes and not barcodes from 3rd party agents.
If your ticket doesn’t have a QR code, ensure your operator provides one else you’ll be channeled from the online booking counter to customer service and then to main counter, which was a very terrible waiting experience for us, considering we bought the express pass.
We bought the express pass (only for sky cab aka cable car ride) however the skyglide ride/nature trail and skybridge is another set of tickets (extra $$$) which can only be bought at The Central platform after taking the skycab all the eay up.
It makes us wonder why they could have the complimentary tickets to 3D art etc but they couldn’t include/provide options for the sky glide/skybridge tickets as well at the ticketing counter. We would have gladly bought the tickets together so we didn’t have to queue AGAIN at the top platform. Prob had to do w timing. They had timings for the skyglide.
It would be better if they could colour code and give the customers a time frame for them to take the skyglide back and forth, cuz honestly there wasn’t much to do once u reach the skybridge (other than appreciating the view) which wouldn’t take very long.
All in all, it was a mixed experience. the view is definitely amazing. The crowd luckily wasn’t so mad on a weekday but much can be improved in the way they run things here, especially the ticketing and the movement of the ppl.

Was there @ 14/Sep 2020 and juz wanted to share my experiences;
1) Ticket Purchase counter - line was not that long, ticket counter staff not that friendly. No greetings and detail explanation on the packages, its just like to get things done faster and go.
2) Staff at the 1st line to enter the entrance to line up - also not helpful to guide on how to wear the tag. Just standing there and looked at us till we asked.
3) Before we can line up for the cable car, we were forced to take picture and then only can proceed to the line. Surprisingly, upon reaching the line, the photos were printed and was asked to purchase, RM40/pc or RM60/ 2 pcs. Was shocked coz pics printed by them without our concern and without us to choose. All already in the photoframe. We ended up purchased the 2 pcs (same pic only with diff backgrounds)
4) Upon reaching the 1st deck, another staff taking photo of us after we came out from the cable car. Firstly we say no, but the staff said, ‘its nothing, juz taking photo’. After that we just proceed to walk around. While waiting for cable car to go further, another girl coming showed us the printed photo. We said NO coz we alraedy purchased 2 from below. The girl was kind of ‘forcing’ us to purchase, but we still dont want to. After few minutes arguments, she was saying something harsh and went off.
5) Skyglide - was told by the staff that we need to ‘walk’ to the next spot, as the skyglide is rest for 1.5hrs. So we walked thru the so called ‘jungle tracking’ route. Very steep and not advisable for elderly and family with kids. Took us about 20 mins to reach the point. While crossing it we can see the skyglide is functioning as usual, and why when we line up the staff say we need to walk? After spending half an hour on the platform, we decided to take the Skyglide instead of walking again. Need to pay RM10 per pax, and waited for almost 45 mins to get into the skyglide. No chairs, just standing in the line for almost 45mins.
Lots more to share (most negative feedback), but limited space to write. We cud conclude that Customer Service Level is OUT and also no comm between staff on whats happening at one point to another point. Totally NOT HELPFUL.

Key points: get there early (as close to the opening time as possible) and, if you can, pay the extra for either a glass bottom gondola or the express lane. Go to the skybridge quickly in order to get best pics, but note no opportunity on way down to stop at first station.
More detail: arrive as close to opening time as you can. Pay to be able to jump the queues (express ticket, glass bottom or VIP gondola). Stop at the first station briefly (as you cannot get off on the way down) and take pictures on the cantilever viewing platform. Then head straight to the top and get your ticket for the sky bridge and head straight there (either on the nature walk or by the skybus thing). This way you will be one of only a few and will get great pics. Then walk back slowly through the nature walk and explore the top (second station) before heading back down. Then spend time at the bottom looking at such things as the 3D art (really good!) and 4D short film (needs re-calibrating). Food choice is wide and reasonable in price. Lots of taxis avail at exit (including Grab taxis).

We tried to visit last year but due to strong wind the SkyCab wasn’t working. This year we’ve been lucky. It’s been a low season now, so there were no queue for tickets nor for the SkyCab. Everything is quite well organized, the staff makes people to group up to 6 pax per cabin.

The ticketing office, signage, instruction and entrance were messy. We spent a total of 2.5 hours for the skycab, skyglide and skybridge, but 2 hours was queueing.
I bought ticket of skyglide RM16 (connection between upper platform and skybridge) just because I am coming with my family elderly, ended up they waited 30 mins each way while walking the nature trail (RM6) took 5 mins only.
The upper platform was designed too small to accommodate that many tourist. People are squeezing and rubbing shoulder the whole, not a relaxing experience.

The view from the Skybridge was amazing! The staffs mostly were helpful and informative however some staffs were a bit off (has strong angry vibes). We went on Sunday where not much people around which was good as we managed to stroll around peacefully.
Their souvenir shop is called Skyboutique, available at top station and at Skycab exit gate. For photos, they have few spots at each station with photographers and printing booths. We only got our photos taken on the Skybridge where we bought the printed photos in paper frame and bag tag as souvenirs. Free toilet is provided at top station with tissue and soap available. However, you need to pay to use public toilet at oriental village.
The ticket sold was basic 4-in-1 (Skycab, Skydome, Skyrex, 3D art), with free entrance to Skybridge (promo price), but we paid for Skyglide RM10/pax (promo price) since I'm pregnant and not suitable for nature walk. For us, we didn't go to Skyrex and 3D art. We went to Skydome but it's just a disappointment :(
Overall, the experience was great. We spent around 5 hours there leisurely enjoying the views and taking photos. We bought Express Lane tickets but it didn't bring much difference than those who aren't, better bought it during peak season only haha.
As recommendation, it would be better if customers have the choice to just pay for the Skycab and Skybridge/Skyglide combo instead of paying for other unnecessary entrance fees.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our ride on the SkyCab. The cabins are for up to 6 people at a time. We made the most of our time by getting out at the little station at the top of the 1st section so we could appreciate views of the steepest section that we had just come up. If you want to do that you must get out on the way up as you can't exit the SkyCab at this station on the way down. When you get to the top there is quite a bit to see with viewing platforms right at the top of the hill, though these are only accessible by stairs. The views of Langkawi island from the top are spectacular and well worth the effort. There is a small cafe, souvenir shop and toilet facilities which are handy if you are spending a bit of time here. You can also visit the Skybridge at the top, but there is a small extra charge for that. The ride down is particularly exciting when you get to the steepest part, reputedly the steepest cable car in the world!

This is the worlds steepest cable car with an inclination of 42 degrees. There are three stations. The journey starts form the bottom most station to middle station from there it takes a turn to reach the peak of Gunung Machinchang,
which is second highest peak of Langkawi.
You can disembark at one station, take your own time exploring it and hop on again on the sky cab to visit another hill top.The total length is 2.2 Km.
There are two types of gondolas one normal and the other one with glass bottom. The normal gondola costs around 40 MYR. I have visited this twice once in Jan other time in May. Both the times the queue was manageable. No need to buy express lane ticket.
During Ramadan month it closes a bit early in the evening.

We purchased tickets over the phone as soon as SkyCab opened and travelled there within 15 minutes to validate them. After being opened for 30 minutes the que was already extensive. Our relief at being given a specific time slot to board disappeared during the subsequent additional 2.5 hour wait for when our timeslot group was called. We didn't realise that people in the Express Land were essentially put to the front of everyone else, which presumably pushed all other ticket holders back. The only positive was that the other people also queing were patient, kind with no pushing. Once we made it onto the SkyCab we discovered there were also long ques to get back on at the mid way point and at the top. We just didn't bother to get off as by then it was the hottest part of the day and with two children under 7 and a 70yo we just didn't want to stand around in the heat anymore. If the ticketing and boarding process was made more efficient then I would recommend this.

Dear WazyK, we would like to enlighten you that during peak season, the volume of visitors that visit Langkawi SkyCab increased. Hence, the long queues occurred. The Express Lane ticket holder has the privilege to have a quicker and shorter lane at stations for immediate boarding which suits it name; Express Lane.
Thank you for your time.

To an unpleasant trip to SkyBridge. At TOP we did not purchase the glide to SkyBridge cause it was raining and a lot of people was up there. Really don’t understand how they could let so many people up there with no social distancing RMCO disaster there. We went down to sky bridge and it was a steep pathway did want to go up via that way it was tiring enough to climb down. So wanted to buy ticket to go up alone it was rm10 also per single trip. The staff did want to sell us the ticket and encouraging us to walk back by saying there is alot of people up there we can’t send people up easily. Need to wait for the glide to come down. So they were waiting for people to buy the glide ticket and come down full pack inside the cable car in order to send another full pack load up. Sick management never think of RMCO order Nor did they think of peoples safety. Will never go to SkyBridge any more.

May I know how much does it cost to purchase an adult ticket for the sky cab and the sky bridge directly from the sales counter? And is there parking available for cars?
Written 20 July 2019
We were there last week, it cost 135 RM for 2 adults and one 9 year old child, we payed st the main entry. This only gets you to the top of the cable car, you then need to pay cash only at he top to get onto the bridge, 40 RM for the 3 of us, we thought this was a bit strange as they don’t tell you at the bottom, so take cash. We caught a Grab so not sure about parking sorry.
