Jalan Wong Ah Fook (Wong Ah Fook Road) is by far one of the more well known landmarks of Johor Bahru. I would not go as far as to say ALL Johorians know of this famous road but I am confident that most do. The road is named after a historical figure of Johor who established himself as a contractor... This road is a busy road in the middle of Johor Bahru town. Traffic is usually very very heavy, and parking can be a problem during weekdays and weekends. There are many shops and outlets here, with many malls.

Wow! Crowd and traffic jam is a mild statement. But it is an interesting place. If one should take the trouble and walk the stretch, it is an experience to browse the shops, which one would never do due to the blocked slow traffic. To cross the road requires a skill , a smile and hand outstretched. There are food... More

We love all the old Chinese/old shops so this was good for us. Crossing the road from the mall required a bit of fancy foot work but it was easily done. We crossed to look in the Big Bundle shop (second hand) They had plenty of clothing but nothing to our liking. Much of it was from America. We came... More

Crowded and jammed areas. Never like to be around this area unless I have no choice. Seems like the road design is the problem.

The whole length of this road is cordoned off due to cementing works going on. We have not ventured out to the eateries as its difficult to cross the main street with the traffic, construction ongoing and the lack of foot bridge. Best to keep yourself at City Square or Komtar.

Going from City Square and trying to cross the street to Little India is a major undertaking. You have to know exactly where to cross through the construction. They don't exactly make it tourist friendly at all.
