We wanted to stay in Ankarana for 3 days, but in the end just spent 1 full day there. On the website it seems as if they have several full day tours, but actually you can do them all in 1 day with still time...More

This was my second park in Madagascar. I enjoyed the hikes very much. The trails were in good condition and well marked. The hike to the Tsingy is uncomfortably hot on a sunny day. You are totally exposed to the sun and it's easy to...More

Other than the tsingy, you can see countless crowned lemurs and Sanford's brown lemurs. And if you are as lucky as I, you might be able to spot a fossa.

They raised fees , force you to take a guide for a fee and if it is late during the day that you arrive they will not let you in again next morning

Ankarana National park is the most visited park in the North. Doing the Grand Tour, for around six hours walk, is just amazing. Visit the cave, the Perte de rivière or underground river unfinished. So rich in nature, lemurs and birds. Lemurs found in the...More

The trip to Ankarana Reserve was a wonderful, unforgettable experience despite blazing heat. Almost right at beginning of the path, I had a close encounter with a crested coua eating fruit and a lovely rufous-colored male Malagasy paradise flycatcher with very long tail feathers, soon...More
