The stones here come from several different periods. The interior provides a good overview to the castle and the earlier Phonecians.

This crusader castle is in pretty good shape. Right on the coast it offers a beautiful backdrop to other ruins in the area. A little pricey for the entrance fee though.

The castle and grounds at byblos are a passage to the past. Phoenician, Egyptian, Greek, Roman and many more major groups passed through this small area. The castle is in good shape and has a nice little museum. The grounds also have many sites worth seeing. It's only 5 usd to enter, but we also had professor yazin to show... More

The castle is nice, the gardens are vast. But there is a secret little place I'd like to share: By the Phoenician tombs there is an underground passage to go inside. Try to find it, or ask for it.

By simply visiting Byblos, you will be stepping back in history on what to be believed the 2nd oldest city on planet earth. Was an amazing experience to visit the crusader castle and get to discover its gems. The castle is overlooking the port of Byblos the Mediterranean sea and the old souk. I highly recommend as a must destination... More

If you are interested in the history and legends of the Crusaders then this is definitely a place to visit. There is a small entrance fee and option of different language guides but we wanted to just walk around and explore. The main castle part has some artifacts in glass cases with display boards. Considering this was built in the... More

I did this today as part of the Nakhal agency tour of byblos harissa and jeita grotto. I think the normal foreigner price was 8000LL. It was nice... a museum inside and you can climb inside the castle. 30 minutes is enough. If you're here you should see it... right next to a mini old town with souk.

It is called the crusader castle. However, it is a place that tells the history of the human kind over thousands of years. Very interesting to see and learn!

I was 8 years or so when I first visited Byblos Crusader Castle. I've been since visiting every single year. This is a magic place, crossing 6000 years history in less than 2 hours! A must visit in Lebanon
