Amazing rock formations tucked away half an hour drive from Malindi. Must visit. Saloon cars may not make it.

Marafa-Hells Kitchen is a place where erosion has led to some very stunning formations. We underestimated the time it took us to drive to the place from Malindi and could not go to the bottom. The funds collected from the visitors are used to develop...More

We only learnt about hells kitchen this year and decided to have a look - it being described to us as a mini grand canyon. I think that describes it pretty well. We did the whole tour including going down into the canyon- Not something...More

I've been told it's the Grand Canyon of Kenya and wasn't really sure what to expect. It was about an hour from our resort (which is about 20 minutes north of Malindi town). The roads are rough, so suggest a car with higher clearance. Once...More

We were in Malindi and decided to follow the recommendations of Kenya (Lonely Planet) volume. It was mentioned that this was a mini "Gran Canyon", and frankly speaking this was as close as the truth as it could be. Some of the stones, when you...More

About an hours drive from where we were staying at Mwembe Resort but well worth the drive. I recommend you take a tour van or go with locals otherwise you may think you're lost. Amazing landscape and folklore explain the natural formation of Marafa Hell's...More

It was really beautiful and we had a nice walk! If you're lucky you can even see monkeys. It is a 1,5 hour drive but worth it.

It was 100 bob when I last visited. They tried to tell me it was 500bob but then I discovered that the extra cash is for a guide. You have to be careful about that.
