We came up here to see the lakes and take a stroll around. The main lake is a bit mobbed but if you go a bit further up then it is quiet and pleasant.

Get ready for a heavenly experience away from the city and away from mobile range :) The terrain is mountain so be ready for long difficult walks. Get climbing shoes or ride horses.Six hours ride from Almaty.

There are two Kolsai lakes. You get dropped off at the lower lake, and have to hike up to the upper lake. It's as much as 8 miles of a hike if you count the vertical distance, and the paths are not paved so there...More

The Kosai lake is an amazing place, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, words cannot describe it! You can hire a boat that takes you across the first lake which is great. The walking is tough so hiking boots and sticks are recommended - also do...More

Trip takes 2 days as minimum (better if its a 3-day trip), usually includes visiting Charyn Canyon. So it is 3-3.5 hours to Charyn, then 5-6 hours there and around (Valley of Castles is just one of the parts of this canyon, there is a...More

Hi, Unfortunately I do not think there is an easy way to get there from Almaty by public transport. It is around a 5 hour drive from the city and the roads require a 4x4 vehicle.
