A brief photo-op on a cold January morning
We were in Almaty for barely a few hours , and arrived at the park right before sunrise. The backdrop of the arched structure and the snow-clad park / mountains on a cold January morning , was perfect for our brief photo-op. Important tip : If going during winters , keep in mind that the entrance is a short 3-4 minute walk from the parking. So wear shoes that are safe to walk on snow.

lots of trees are no more in green and seems very few public facilities
I love the park, I love to stroll around the park. I specially love the pine tree zone. But I am very much concerned about the trees, lots of them were not any more in green. It seems to me lots of them were dead of a sort of dieses. I wish the park management take care of them soonest possible. And anoother thing I need to mark, is that there seems to be no water basin. I needed to wash my hand for some reason, but I couldn't find none of them nor a sign. Hope they have such public facilities.

    Beautiful Park
Had a short visit to First President Park Nur Sultan. His house were he lives is very close to the park. Alma or Apple is located near the entrance. Huge fountain but now on when we visit. Huge statue of First president sitting in a couch. Pleasant visit.

Beautiful architecture, maybe try it during golden hour for great photos. It's pretty crowded and there are children playing everywhere in the water. Very clean, looks properly taken care of. A good place for families, though a bit far from everything.

This is a gorgeous place to take a relaxing walk with friends and feed the red squirrels. There are hot chocolate stands inside and it is a big park for walking. When I was there the fountain was not working.

We visited hereat beginning of August 2020 after we found out our initial target, otanical garden, was closed due ti disinfection services relted to pandemic, during our 2 days temporary stay in Almaty. Park is a fairly large, very green place with a lot of different trees that you can sit beneath on the grass and long walking courses for leasure walks. Also has a perimetral road fof cycling and skating. Park has 2 buffets where you can buy refreshments, coffee, tea, ice cream, etc. Overall we enjoyed here, spent half day in open clean air with our 6 months old peacefully sitting or sleeping in his trolley under tree shades.

There is a very big park. A lot of people go there to spend some hours or to do sport. We visited this park during the evening, because Almaty in August can be very hot. I suggest you this park if you go to Almaty

From our hotel, DoubleTree Almaty, we had to take a Yandex for 970 tenge and it took 20 minutes to get here.

The park is large and is a nice place for a stroll and we could see the snow capped mountains in the distance. It isn't close to a metro station so you will need a car to get here.
