Sendai is a very nice city. Big, modern yet not so crowded nor so fast paced & commercialised as Tokyo or Osaka. The station is big, very modern, nice & well organised. With few floors of shops & good dining options. And prices here are lower than in Tokyo. Surrounding & further from the stations are many more big malls & retail mix. And hotels. You can take Shinkansen or normal trains here. Definitely one of our favourite stations ( & city).

Arrived at Sendai Station from Hakodate by train and our Hotel was attached to the Station (Hotel Metropolitan). The station is very busy and has an extensive range of restaurants and eating places for all tastes. Station staff helpful.

Sendai station is just as efficient as other stations with a mix if local lines and Shinkansen. It has extensive shopping, restaurants and hotels attached to the railway complex.

JR Sendai station is a convenient transportation hub in the area. Despite its size, the station is clearly marked and easy to navigate. There are plenty of shopping and eating options in the station (check out Gyutan Dori on the third floor).

Easy to find your way around the station. If it's not your destination plan a 3-hour stop and enjoy some good sushi and the neighbourhood.

The zunda mochi was too sweet and the sunda milkshake went down the drain.

Easily manageable, clean, and welcoming, best describes this JR station. The tourist information center distributes helpful tips. Wandering around are staff in yellow jackets that quickly eyed us as non-Japanese and spoke English to us and directed us to our hotel and a list of nearby restaurants. Although it is smaller than Sapporo or Tokyo stations it has several stores to buy snacks, souvenirs and coffee.

I happened to make a transfer stop at Sendai Train Station whilst going to Yamagata city and discovered a very good bakery inside the station. The hot freshly baked buns are really worth eating.

This is one of the best Shinkansen stations outside of Tokyo. Shopping and good restaurants make this a good start point for a visit to Sendai. Also very close to the downtown walking shopping area.

The Sendai station, the capital of Tohoku, is a major hub that combines various means of transportation from inter-provincial buses and two underground subway links, which is also a major station for the Shinkansen express train. It is a huge shopping center with multiple exits and is a city within a city. The tourist information center also is available in the station.
