The market has many unfamiliar items for the non Japanese. You could walk through without hassle . There were no people pestering you to buy anything and if you stopped and asked for anything people were so helpful.

Staying in Kochi? Make sure you put these fun Sunday markets towards the top of your "must see" list. This narrow street market highlights the fresh fruit and seafood produce for which this area is famous. There were some wonderful stalls also offering handcrafts, traditional...More

As tourist we were mainly looking at all the giant fruit (especially the apples, never seen so many huge ones) and fresh vegetables. Down the far end near the Castle were some bric-a-brac stalls. We bought a large Japanese bowl for Y1000 which was a...More

We came to Kochi to visit the castle. We walked through the market to get back to the station. Lots of veggies, and plants for sale. Also many booths selling knives, swords and other cutlery. There were a few antique dealers as well. A bit...More
