Laid back island with a village set on the slopes facing the port. Lovely place to be walking around the windy, hilly streets. But the main draw for me was the amazing lighthouse about 30 minutes' walk away from the village. I have always loved...More

It was a rainy Monday, galleries on Naoshima were closed for the day, so we opted for Ogishima. This was low season, a couple of weeks before Golden Week so yes, not much was open. If not for the sustaining plain soba served at the...More

We were there for the Setouchi Triannale and I found the island is very charming, it is very nice for a half day excursion, combined with Megijima for example.

As we had an extra day in Takamatsu and the hotel was just opposite the ferry pier, so we decided to hop to Ogijima. There are a lot of exhibits on the island, but be prepared to walk up the slopes and the ferry schedule:...More

This island, mostly known for its cats (although we have seen just a few of them) or its Setouchi Art Festival, may be at first glance small and uninteresting as it doesn't have any attractions nor open bars/restaurants or public transportation (except the ferry to...More

I suggest you to visit this island during the Setouchi International Art Festival which is held every 3 years and the next one will be held this year's autumn. My visit was rather boring although me and my university friends enjoyed the stroll around the...More

We visited in September and although I had high hopes and intended having lunch there, nothing was open. The whole place seemed terribly run down except for the Rock Wall village where work was being done. The paths are steep, there is no public transport...More

You can get Ogijima by ferry or passenger ship. The ships leave from Takamatsu port near by Takamatsu station.
