Since it is a bit too far from the centre of Takamatsu city, we took "Udon bus" which took us for two udon shops and in between to Yashima. It was a good and reasonable half-day tour and highly recommended.

We took the bus up. Even though we could read Kanji, the bus schedule was unclear because it wrote something like "buses not operating in December". Maybe our misinterpretation. Up top the view is great, although more information (especially guides in English) about the surrounding...More

Need 3-4 hours to visit as bus from bottom of the mountain is NOT frequent. Taxi to go up costs JPY 1000-1200 and bus is around JPY 200 The temple there is huge and need lots of walking but view overlooking the city is gorgeous.

From the parking lot up on the mountain (630 yen toll road, opens at 6:30 AM), it's a 40-minute walk north to a panoramic spot that gives a superb view over Takamatsu and the close-by islands. This is the main attraction for me, although the...More

I'm a complete mountain junkie and was really excited to climb Mount Yashima, but there were a few hiccups on the way. There are a few ways up by walking - if you head north from JR Yashima, after about fifteen or twenty minutes you'll...More
