There are many places you can travel inc Naha which are at your reach by the monorail. Cheap and interesting..When arriving to Naha follow the signs to the monorail and get your ticket with the easy guide in English and board the monorail for a mere 380 yen rather than get a taxi starting at 560 yen.. I highly recommend it

Although getting a taxi from the airport to any location in Naha center doesn't cost a fortune, the monorail is the cheapest, quickest & easiest way to get into Naha city.

From the outside Naha airport looks like a moderate sized airport comparable to Richmond VA airport however once you get inside it’s super easy to navigate the 4th floor has your typical shops and everything the 3rd floor has the check in and the check in area is easy to navigate mainly because theirs not a huge variety of airlines that come through.

When you go to the 2nd floor getting through security is super easy then again japan isn’t as strict as what the US is. Normally for me it takes 5 minutes or so. Also on the 2nd floor you have some gates which are easy to get to. The cool thing with Naha is the gates are numbered so theirs no direct terminal codes per se. just follow the directions to your gate number and you will be fine. On my present excursion I am at the first floor where I will be bused to my plane.

My only issue with Naha is that theirs not an adequate number of charging outlets for your phone or devices. Usually theirs some small charging stations and they can be hard to come by esp silly if theirs a lot of people at your gate and the gates around you.

Another issue is that even though we’re in japan the number of westerns who reside here for military purposes cannot be understated in my mind their should be more of a variety of restaurants however this is not a huge issue.

The last problem is parking it is all in jappense except for some basic signs in English so it can be confusing on figuring out where to park for a simple domestic flight the signs are useful but only to extent theirs got to be better directions for parking

Overall I love Naha airport and will be flying a lot for work it’s a beautiful airport for what it’s worth and if you fly into or out of Naha I am sure you will think the same. This airport is a lot better than most American airports of the same size and it’s super easy to navigate even for the average westerner

The airport was bigger than I imagined it would be. It was easy to find the monorail station and the same to find our check in and gate when leaving. It's a very modern and clean airport.

This station is located at the domestic terminal. Maybe around 10-15 minutes walk from the international airport terminal. The most convenient and economical way to get into town after reaching Okinawa, both domestically or internationally.

1st time I visited Okinawa I relied on taxis for transportation until I discovered the convenience of the Yui Rail Monorail trains. Returning, some 3-years later, I elected to make better use of the Monorail this time.
The Naha Airport terminus for Yui Rail is immediately opposite the Domestic Terminal and is bridge linked to the 2nd Floor Departure Hall. The International Terminal is several hundred metres further up the road from the Domestic Terminal and when exiting the International Terminal from the Ground Floor Arrivals Hall, it is not immediately clear where the Monorail Station is (and the route partially obstructed by ongoing Terminal refurbishment works).
It was only on returning to the Airport a few days later that it became more obvious that the link between the International and Domestic Terminals (and subsequently the Station) exists at 2nd Floor (Departure Hall) level.
Once you realise this, it's really very straightforward!
