It's a beautiful cave with lots of great formations, but the lighting detracts from the overall experience. The colored lighting is fine and gives nice photos but too much spotlights, christmas lights and signs make it hard to get a good photo without any of those in them. Which is a shame. They should have put some more thought in it. Also the photographer in the middle is antiquated and annoying. Finally I normally dont complain about the price but 1200 yen is too much, since they dont really seem to maintain the place.

We really liked not having a guide. It allowed us to go at our own pace. The people at the location we kind and helpful. We really enjoyed our experience.

This cave shows nature at its most fascinating. However, some of the human additions need work. I liked the various colors to subtly highlight the stalactites, but the Christmas-style lights detract from the natural beauty. Also, the lighted information picture boards need to be replaced. The old photos are faded and worthless. A few upgrades and this place would be really awesome. I came on a rainy day, and would recommend it despite the 1200 yen entrance fee.

At first glance this place can feel like one of America's off the main road tourist draws - Ishigaki Stalactite Caves...

But it is well worth a visit.

The natural beauty of the caves is incredible - and they are extremely extensive. I'd say there are about a kilometer of trails through the caves. Most of the areas are lit so you can see the natural beauty, but in true Japanese style one area is lit to provide the feeling of an illumination show.

I was quite pleased with what I found given that I rode a bicycle up there in the heat and would have been disappointed if it had not been so fascinating.

Great indoors activity for those days or hours when it rains in Ishigaki.

Cave is quite large, around 700 m which go in a circular way. Illumination is nice, specially the part of the "light city". Conditions are very reasonable.

Couple of things I would consider are, removing the background audio, which takes away part of the experience (although some people would be unhappy without audio, due to the tremendous silence)

Souvenir shop is large with plenty of items for you to purchase. Try the gelato stand at the end of the cave, before the gift shop too!

The caves are very nice. They are lite well and
the guide was great. The Stalactites hanging from the ceilings of caverns
along with the stalagmites were fantastic.

This was a great cave adventure, I was surprised how warm it was walking thru this cave. A nice long walk underground self-guided tour at your own pace.

Was not busy at all and the photo opportunity was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend. Not an all day thing but paired with other attractions, it’s an overall pleasant experience
