Not only paying for the frozen and low quality foods but also need to pay for the steamer (Yen 510). Not only that we need to do it ourselves and also need to wash all our dishes. No drinking water too. Don't go if not you will regret......

Overall, nice experience. Great concept using the natural hot steam to cook something to eat. Somehow, you pay for frozen seafood to be steamed. If the food is fresh, probably have a much better taste than over cooked frozen seafood. Keep in mind, after you're done eating, you have to clean up and wash all the dishes/plates you used.

It is an interesting place for lunch. Is it really that tasty? Not really, it's bland but worth trying for the experience. There is a free onsen fountain at the entrance for drinking but it does taste like blood.

the famous restaurant at Beppu, the process of cooking is better than the food. This restaurant provide cooking food by the hot spring , using 90 degree hot spring water to steam the food. you need to buy the ticket and choose the food. And the ticket for 30 min using the wooden steamer. is funny that you will need... More

Interesting experience. Steam your own food and also wash up the dishes when you are done. There is an English speaking info counter there too.
