- Jessie ADenver, Colorado44 contributionsMore in depth that I originally thought, kinda pricyAt first I glance I thought the park looked beautiful but it lacked depth- seemingly more meant for kids and QUITE expensive for what you get. Comparatively this is nearly as expensive as Tokyo Disneyland/Disney Sea and for me way less interesting. Yes I did very much enjoy the absolutely beautiful flowers and well designed buildings. There was some small shops that were cute and some fun walk through experiences that we did enjoy. I think if we had more time to go through some more experiences it might have been worth it however it was pouring rain & we had to hurry off to return to our cruise ship on time so we only stayed maybe 2 hours. Definitely take your time and explore, there’s so many areas!Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 March 2024
- Musings_MJSingapore, Singapore630 contributionsDutch theme park with winter illuminationWe thoroughly enjoyed this theme park. We stayed the whole day from the park's opening to the closing at night, enjoying the Dutch architecture buildings, the performances and winter illumination. Since it is the end of the year, there were also Christmas decorations and night time illumination which adds to the holiday feel. There were also VR rides which were fun. For those looking for thrilling rides at theme parks, this is not the place. The rides were more for younger children and were rather tame but suited us well. There is also an adventure area with flying fox, suspension bridges and high elements for kids. What stood out were the amazing dining options. We ate lunch at Tottotto located at Tower City which served Western such as hamburger steak, omelet rice and doria. Food was very reasonably priced and tasted authentic and delicious. We ate dinner at an Italian restaurant, Pinoccio, also located at Tower City. The pasta and pizza were amazing. Prices were also reasonable and comparable to any other Italian restaurants. . We were impressed that Huis Ten Bosch did not mark up the food prices like other theme parks! There were not too many visitors in November when we visited which was a relief because we hate crowded theme parks. One tip - we bought tickets from Klook during the summer sale for our visit in November. We paid only about 5000 yen for an adult price ticket after the discount. Look out for such sales!Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 26 March 2024
- Jonas LManila, Philippines256 contributionsAmazing place. Flowers everywhere!Went here during the tulip season. Amazing sights specially if you catch tulips during their bloom. Park is wuite big. Got the 1.5 day pass which is I believe just right to tour the park at comfortable pace. Plenty of food options also inside the park at reasonable costVisited April 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 April 2024
- fionayyyHong Kong, China221 contributionsGood place to visitLots to do at the park for all ages. Tickets are not cheap, but acceptable. Not that nice if it's raining, would be nice if they add more indoor/covered cafes/restaurants. The scenery and flowers are nice, with some attractions and evening illuminations/shows and souvenir stores (look for the Huis Ten Bosch limited edition Nano Block!). Can get crowded, but can use the app to check the line up time/show times, which is quite useful. Quite a bit of walk inside the park , the shuttle can be more frequent. Some restaurants have quite a line up , and the ticket/queuing has to be done by Line app, which foreign visitors may not have.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 17 April 2024

Go up to the highest building level to get a good view of the entire place. Very beautiful colourful lights at night and some fireworks to watch. Good place for photographs especially in spring where there are colourful tulip flowers everywhere.Visited April 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 July 2024

We just did the coolest thing!!! We were in a 330 pound solid 18K gold hot tub!
It weighs 150.4 kg, making it the largest in the world at the moment.
At 130cm in diameter and 55cm deep, the bath tub is large enough to accommodate two adults comfortably. It took goldsmiths in Tokyo eight months to complete and is valued at about 800 million yen (US$7.15 million dollars).
So with the money at 20 bucks for a couple for an hour.

This was an absolutely gorgeous theme park that was laid back with way less crowds than Disney or Universal Japan. The lights at night are so out of this world that a stay at one of the really expensive hotels on the property is a must to take it all in.
There are lots of different variety of attractions that all ages will enjoy. One even takes you to a remote island and fight dinosaurs! The hotels give you free entrance to the hot spring operated by the theme which was also a nice treat.
Another thing I find that's great here is the food. The food are generous in portion and tastes great, while costing similarly as a regular meal outside of themeparks. This was a huge surprise to us.
I would definitely come back to here in the future if I'm visiting Kyushu.

Weird because it gets a lot of hype. Very strange place. Basically a park with a large amount of buildings, canals and expensive hotels. Flowers are probably nice in the spring. But rides- not really. Shows- not really. This isn’t Disney or even some of the less popular parks. Go to take pictures and walk through redundant shops of junk. I’m sure the lights are pretty. But it’s an expensive ticket for Christmas lights.

Save your money and just walk through if you want to see it. Had I known you could just walk through it for free and pay individually for the occasional attractions we would have done that. Instead I figured if we paid full admission we could do everything it had to offer and not worry about it. It was awful. Nothing to do there for little kids. The only thing my kids wanted to do was ride the ferris week and that you had to pay extra for. 6,700 yen or whatever an adult price was. Ridiculous. The entire time I kept walking up to attractions to make sure we could even do it with the pass we bought and half of them we couldn't. Waste of time and money. So disappointed.

Extremely expensive entry fee for food courts and souvenir shops!
We paid 4300 yen for evening tickets and unhappy enough, I feel terribly sorry for other people who paid 6400yen, full day pass.
We were there on the day in between events and absolutely nothing was happening. The park was totally empty. The flower garden, which they are famous for, was poorly maintained. Bunch of flower pods of dahlia were randomly placed on the ground and they were not at all pretty. There were many different kind of roses planted but they were trimmed very short to prepare for next season and no flowers blooming on them. The most beautiful flowers we found inside of the park was at the souvenir flower shop. Seriously, my next door neighbor's back yard, which I can see for free is much much nicer.
Illumination show which is another highlight of the park was okay if you could find animal garden. There were many decoration lights on the ground or on bushes in the park but most of them WEREN'T urned on. It was just unbelievable.
If they don't keep up anything as advertisement, they should not charge people or just might as well, close the whole park. Unless you want to see their theater plays, the park is a wast of you and your family's time and money. I will NEVER go back.

How much is the entrance ticket, just the sight-seeing only, no theme park rides? Where can I buy this ticket?
Written 12 February 2020
One day pass is 7k yen. Tis is good for whole day access to unlimited rides.
If you buy at 3pm you will pay only 5k yen included rides. Canal boat ride is a must do. Actuallythis fare is worth to see the scenery, kingdom of lights n rides n many attractions

Hello, I am planning to take the JR seaside Liner to Huis Ten Bosch and leave my luggage at the train station and take the JR express back to Hakata. Please advise of the trains have a luggage storage area and elevators for luggage use. My luggage size is 27 inches.
Written 18 January 2020
Huis Ten Bosch Station is a small station, but indeed it has luggage storage (lockers), in the waiting room. And there's an elevator to the platform.
Written 19 January 2020
Do we need to buy the train ticket in advance? We will be coming from Hakata, staying overnight in Huis Ten Bosch and returning to Hakata the following day. Do we just purchase the train ticket at the station on the day we are travelling?
Written 28 October 2019
You can buy at train station, if its not a public holiday in Japan (not so much of crowd).

I’m want to visit huis ten Bosch. But i can’t find any (affordable) hotels nearby. Or are there just any? Would love to be there at night as well. Otherwise I need to go there from Nagasaki or Fukuoka and then I would have to be on time to get back.

Are they any ways to get cheaper tickets for a family? it seems fun but so expensive is it worth it?
thanks
Written 20 June 2019
Firstly, Japan is a very expensive country, so "generally" everything here is very expensive.
You can try travel sites like Klook, which offers special prices for various Asian attractions regularly & if you are lucky, may get what you wanted.
As to if it is worth it, it really depends.
Everyone has different opinions & perspectives.
Usually, I would look at the overall total reviews ratings. If a high percentage of the total reviews are in the "Excellent/Good" categories, I will go ahead.
