The most unusual and natural rock formations bordering the walk to the Aoshima shine on Aoshima Island. Called the Devils Washboard the formations can be viewed up close. A most unique and very photogenic site well worth a visit.

Such a beautiful, unique coastline in Miyazaki. I wonder how the surfers manage to avoid "the devil's washboard." It's definitely something to see.

First time to see this kind of trace in the ocean. Very interesting and curious place. I think if there is any explanation of this place on the spot, it would be great.

This is one of the famous places for sight seeing. It is a natural scene of rocks shaped like a washing plank. It is said to be formed as a result of vocanic activity.

Take in this site while also visiting adjacent biological garden and shrine too. Three tourist spots in one location.
