Hidden in Aoshima, the shrine was crowded with visitors. Buy a fortune arrow for luck in searching your true love. Go further in the woods and you will find a pair of twisting trees blessing for couples.

A cute hidden forested shrine on Aoshima island. Very small but a welcome cool relief from the hot sun. This refers to the shrine near Miyazaki, not the cat island shrine.

Nice shine, nice beach, awesome sea view. Can easily spend 1-2 hours there with children and elders. A lot of souvenir sold in the shine.

A distinct shrine on the island/penisula with great views of the rocky shoreline and sea. We walked around the perimeter of the entire island but just walking our past the shrine for a ways may prove a better use of time for tourists.

I was more interested in seeing the island rather than the shrine. It’s a good place for people to cast a wish in order to get married.

Wonderful walk next to the beach and the 'Devil's Washboard'. The shrine is beautiful and set on a little peninsula!

It was a cold but wonderfully sunny Christmas day when we visited which made it just perfect. We loved the ambience in the temple and really liked wandering across the fascinating rock formations. A highlight of our trip.

A lovely small shine in a beautiful beach setting, with some lovely Japanese gardens too. A beautiful place to spend a half day.
