Take either the bus nishitetsu from hakata station or take the subway to meinohama and take the bus from there. From hakata apparently according to the information centre the bus runs on a a schedule that makes you miss the ferry by 5min... So we took the subway and we're lucky. Bus stops right in front of the ferry terminal... More

Flowers everywhere, scenic and good energy! Had a wonderful udon soup for lunch. Easy access with by foot or bus transportation, I recommend the hike.

We visited the park on Nokonoshima Island and found it a perfect family getaway. There are activities for children such as petting zoos, playgrounds, and the park "village" also has cafés, reataurants, souvenirs and two ceramics stores where you can try creating pottery or painting it. The flower beds are also very lovely. There is a ten minute ferry leaving... More

We walked from the ferry terminal to the Flower Park. I don't recommend doing this if you're on a tight schedule. It's uphill the whole way and about 5-6km. We walked along the paved road rather than the nature trail since it was foggy and a little bit drizzly on the day we were there. Also, you may see some... More

Only a short ferry ride away from Fukuoka city, it's a wonderful place for a family with young children. Walking around the whole island will take quite a while. Instead take the charming bus to the terminus where the landscaped garden is. Depending on the time of the year different flowers blossom. Although it's small, the farm area is enough... More

I walked the entire island. If you want to get in a good long walk away from the urban setting of Fukuoka, this is the place. However there is not much to see that is unique. Much of the trails are wooded and do not lend itself for good views of the water. There is a lot of invasive bamboo... More

We took the 10 minute Rainbow Ferry across. The weather was good and we sat outside enjoying the cold breeze. We arrived after noon and had a wonderful lunch at Noko-iso. We then took the public bus which runs every hour up to the Island Park. We decided not to go I and instead took the trail down. It was... More

I guess the season to visit this island is over. It is very quiet as if we "own" the island. Well afterall, the island has only 800 residents. People are very friendly in the island. We rented a bicycle for 2 hours to cycle around. Take a bus to the garden but not much flowers to see. Park is considered... More

Taking the ferry across in 12mins is already great. You get to see the port and good view of Bayside. Upon reaching the island, I scouted around and discovered a burger place managed by locals. Across the street were a few small shops mostly run by families. I had sashimi lunch at one of them and the quality was really... More
