This is a nice place to spend a bit of time on the sea. The beach is nice, there are some cafés / bars right on the beach, and plenty of people relaxing, walking on the beach, taking pictures, having a snack etc.

The Fukuoka tower is also here, which is on clear days giving great views.

The beach is artificial. The location is on the bay which has ungergone a 60-80% landfill. As a result there is never any rough surf or the washing of the beach which would disinfect it. I've been scuba diving in the bay and it's filthy. Full of pollution. The city releases sewage into the bay at night. I would never put a foot in the water. The beach has Ash and cigarette butts from smokers in the sand. Yuck. Yuck yuck!

I didn;t find a lot of interesting attractions within the city of Fukuoka itself but as I was going to the Fukuoka Tower, I came upon this seaside park. There weren't a lot of people there and you have this gorgeous view of the sea as well as the Fukuoka Tower.

We found Momochi Seaside Park when we visited Fukuoka Tower. It's a very relaxing place, very quiet, a good place to bond with the family. There were very few people when we visited, overall atmosphere is nice. It is also an instagramable place :-)

I found it lovely walking the pathways along this beach. You could also walk along the beach it’s self. One day there were a lot of people were cleaning up rubbish from the ocean. Nearby were shops and some restaurants in Mariano area. Nice views of the islands and ocean overlooked by Fukuoka Tower.

The beach is pretty small, the wave is not strong either, not really interesting for tourists. However, this place is not far away from the town and maybe a good place for Fukuoka residents.

It was so peaceful and calm. I hear cute shouts from local kids with their teachers or parents. I could see pretty and cute couples, walking around. I could see also some locals who enjoy marine sports. The view toward the ocean, the hotel, to the dome and to the tower, all of them were wonderful. I just felt I am local too. Just I could forget I am stranger or visitor. There was a wedding in a werstern style wedding hall. That was also interesting to look at. However, the local open restaurant, Big bananas Momochihama,at the beach was terrible. Staff were rude even agressive. Nonetheless, the taste of the Yakisoba was horrible.

This is just across from Fukuoka tower and Fukuoka dome. There Is a nice paved path to walk, run or bike along the path. There are also some good, shaded areas on the beach and off the path. It's not crowded, especially during the week. Water is nice in the summer and there is an adequate area for swimming or wading. (No waves) After enjoying the beach there are showers (cold) to wash off and a changing area. Nearby there are some food and desert choices. Overall, it's a good place to visit if you've got a few hours.

Do dress warm as it gets cold near the seaside. The architecture of the building is unique. A getaway from the city of hakata.

... Very quaint and a nice place to go on a romantic date (with the Fukuoka Tower just across the street).

There aren't too many shops, but if you're there during the day-time, you ought to try the Blue Seal Ice Cream shop (American-style ice cream brand created in Okinawa). It's awesome.

Parking isn't free, but then again, nothing is in Momochi.
