We though that Gyoko Bosatsu was quite interesting

While walking back towards Nara Station we Passed by Kintetsu Nara Station and stopped to admire a fountain sculpture with a monk standing on top. We actually first noticed what might have been a real monk standing in front of the fountain and wondered what he was up to. He was standing completely still with his conical hat on and some flowers on a stand behind him. The statue is made of bronze and is situated in the square in front of the station and is a famous meeting point. Gyoki was a monk who was born in Osaka in 668, who was famous for his contribution to society during the 737 epidemic in Japan. He constructed ponds, bridges and houses for those that were inflicted by the disease.

It is located near Kintetsu Nara Station. Today is the Wakakusayama Yaki festival, so I decided to go home early, but I stopped in my tracks when I saw some street performances. I felt like the Bodhisattva of Business was smiling at me.

If you found a statue on top of a water fountain, then you should be near the shopping street and Kintetsu Nara Station. In some occasions, another real person was also found there to make a comparison as well.

Nice Statue in the middle of fountain
