Huge area to explore with many temples and shrines to visit. The wild deer are one of the biggest draws to the area. They walk right up and look for free food. There are stands selling deer wafers for about 150 yen. Make sure to...More

Nara Park is huge. There are lots of deers roaming freely around the park. You can buy biscuits at 150 yen to feed them. They are cute. Children will enjoy... The park is beautiful and surrounded by 2 mountains.

Truly out of this world. When you bow to the deer, the deer bow back. There is really nothing like it in the entire world. The park itself has upwards of 1200 deer, and they're as polite as they are friendly. Get some of the...More

If you want to see everything in Nara, allot a whole day. If you plan to take good pictures, allot 2 days and visit really early. We only had a few hours so we chose to see the 5-story pagoda, Todai-ji Temple and Kasuga Shrine.

It's a nice park with calm atmosphere and lots of deers. Take your time here, feed the deers, grab an ice cream and chill.

We visited Nara on a day trip from Kyoto. It was easy to get to and we picked up a map from tourist information in Nara and managed to walk it all the way to the park and visit temples along the way. Probably about...More
