We went to look at the bowing deers in the park and were absolutely fascinated by them. They run wild in the park and you can feed them biscuits which you buy for 150Yen. The deer will come up to you and try and grab...More

A must! Although the deers can be little rascals and a bit demanding with the crackers, lol, this was a definite highlight from my time in Japan.

Don’t miss out on the incredible selection and low prices. This is a must stop for all souvenirs, highly recommend. I purchased items I saw at the souvenir stand at daiso for 1/4 of the price.

Nara park is a beautiful sprawling park that has a temple and shrine. It’s a good place to hike up the nearby hill and to enjoy yourself with the polite and friendly deers. A must with the kids!

One whole day is not enough to explore this sprawling park. It was raining when we visited so be sure to wear comfortable,non-slip shoes and bring umbrellas, jackets too. The deers are everywhere so there's plenty of photo ops with them. Lots of historic temples to...More

Nara can be reached easily from Osaka or Kyoto. I arrived at the Kintetsu Nara station since it was right next to the shopping streets. The JR Nara station is slightly further away which you can consider to arrive at if you have the JR...More

Stepping out of a perfectly organized public bus, we walked to the entrance of Nara's park! It's almost impossible to explain the sensation I felt as I went through the gate, under the look of two wooden giant statues of Japanese gods and surrounded by...More

Very beautiful park in downtown Nara. We’re on tour in Japan and stopped here before travelling on to Osaka. A lot to see and enjoy and a welcome break during your trip

There is a special bus that conducts you from the bullet train station directly to Nara park entry. However even within the park it's a fair amount of walking. To see the Buddha temple too it's a walk, although the deer are... More

As the park is an open area, I don't think it could be closed. However, when darkness falls, people would start moving out & most if not all the tourist sites would begin to close for the night. I guess it would be deserted... More
