Has the world's largest bronze Buddha statue to see within the temple. There is also a hole in a pillar which represents one of the buddha's nostrils and it is said that if you can squeeze through it you may be granted enlightenment. We went...More

Todai-ji Temple and its neighbours temples Kasuga Grand and Nigatsu-do are a good opportunity to step into the history and religiosity of Nara and Japan. My wife and I took the bus at the Nara Station which conveniently took us to the entrance of the...More

This temple is located at the end portion of the open deer park. You need to pay entrance fees to visit it. Outside the temple, deers lazed all over the park or mingle with tourists. But no deer was seen inside the temple premise. It's...More

After a 2 km walk through nara park, we finally reached the Todaiji temple. Inside the temple one will see various magnificent statutes which were breathtaking. There was a column called buhhda's nose where one can try crawling through for enlightenment. Overall a grand spectacle...More

The statue is made from bronze and then plated with gold. Well worth paying the small entrance fee to see this magnificent temple. We walked from Nara station through a built-up area until we reached a large open parkland area. Absolutely love this town and...More

You don't really understand or get a scale of how big this Buddha is until you're there in person. It's truly awe inspiring and 100% a must do after seeing all of the deer in the park.

Hello. We've just arrived in Namba (closest subway is Nipponbachi). Is there a trick to getting to tōdai-ji without the 2km was from the nearest station which I think is Nara? Would appreciate your advice. Thanks
