This is a a beautiful waterfall, well off the beaten track, that is definitely worth a visit if you have your own transport. It is located 2.5 km up a clearly signposted road, midway between Nikko and the more famous Kegon Falls. If you are in Nikko and love nature, then do yourself a favour and visit Urami Waterfall. It is off the beaten track and for some reason, not mentioned in the tourist brochures so little known and little visited but worth seeking out. Free entrance, not many visitors. Beautiful, quite place. You need a car to get to the parking, from there it will be not very long walk to the waterfall.

I'm serious, better than Kegon. It's free, uncrowded, and almost unknown. You'll need to taxi if you don't have a car. This place was so stunning it brought me to tears. Had it to myself for about 15 minutes.
