In a day of touring the region, this lake provides a tranquil place for rest. Being a crater lake, the structure of the surrounding topography becomes evident. Whether for a brief stopover or for a longer rest, it is worth the effort to drive the...More

The lake is situated on a high level surrounded by mountains. One of the mountains at the populated end of the lake is literally called Male Body Mountain! I find that the boat cruise is rather tacky. Therefore I choose to walk around the shore....More

Very large lake high in the mountains outside of Nikko. Surrounded by hotels and lodges. Looks like it has seen better days economically. Docks are runs down and boats look old and tired. Very touristy.

The weather was cooling and the view was simply majestic. The sky was so blue and the water was sparkling. This is a good spot to take perfect pictures of the family.

Peaceful, weathered trail among trees along the lake edge between first bus stop at Lake and Kegan Falls. Very pleasant break from city buzz. Recommended.

View it from all angles and this is a beautiful lake. Setting beneath Mt Nantai it's such a relaxing place to be.
