The lake is quite big and can be very windy and cold during winter. Lake cruise is off during winter.

Crowded with tourist. Many shops on the side worth a look-see though we didnt buy anything. Just walking around the river and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Beautiful lake, nice at sunset, Autumn foliage in full swing. Would suggest staying until sunset if possible, close to the bus stop.

Nice lake to walk around and near by. Got a few nice pics of leaves changing colours. Also a nice temple with colourful wooden sculptures on the gates.

We viewed the lake from the bus on our way to Ryuka Falls. It's pretty but nothing spectacular. It looks like a nice place to visit in the summer.

There are two train stations in Nikki, JR Nikki and Tobu Nikki. These two stations are very close, just 2 minutes walking. You can buy travel bus tickets from both stations. The bus will stop at both stations. Don’t worry... More

Parks are free but you will likely want to buy a multi day bus pass.

There are many onsens nearby, you can find one for example at the end of a bus line. Sorry i dont remember which i visited couple of month ago but they can help at the bus station at Nikko. I recommend search for the one... More
