The park is located north of Omiya Station and is rich in nature. It's closer to Kita-Omiya Station on the Tobu Railway than to Omiya Station, but many people go to the park from Omiya Station via the approach to the Hikawa Shrine. However, it takes more than 15 minutes to get there on foot (there are not many places to shelter from the sun or rain if you go from Omiya Station). On the other hand, there are many parking lots scattered around the park, so you will see many people coming by car.
The park is a comprehensive entertainment spot, with various athletic facilities such as a baseball field, bicycle race track, swimming pool, and stadium, as well as a Japanese garden and a small zoo (although the athletic facilities are not always available). The rest of the park is covered with trees, and there are not many open spaces. Most people use the park for walking or jogging, and there are few people playing with balls.
This park is at its most beautiful when the cherry trees that cover the park are in full bloom. Many people come here to enjoy the cherry blossoms. On the other hand, there are no trash cans in the park at all times, so people are basically encouraged to take their trash home and dispose of it at home.

When I was a kid, I often visited here in order to watch soccer and baseball games.40 years later, this park is still quiet and peaceful. Here is still a center of sports and culture in Omiya.Omiya has one of the largest station in Japan. The area is so noisy. If you are tired of noisy Omiya streets, please visit this park.

Super 2nd Street is located about 800 meters from Miyahara Station. There you can find lots of quality used items. We went there looking for Coca Cola items and we were not disappointed.. Will go again in our next trip to Tokyo.

Went in late March right when the cherry trees were blossoming and the Cherry Tree Festival was going on. To avoid a large crord, we went during the week on a cool day. The sun managed to peek out every now and then to take some great pictures of the park. Lots of varying festival vendor foods to choose from.

Omiya Park is a lovely place to escape to and sit and contemplate life. The plum blossoms start early March leading into the cherry blossoms then azaleas in May. There are a few seats around the edge but I suggest bringing a sheet to sit on the ground. Remember you will need to take your rubbish away with you as bins are limited.

Omiya Park has been selected as "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites in Japan" in Saitama Prefecture's first prefectural park in the Omiya Ward and Saema Ward of Saitama City.
The park are planted about 1,200 cherry trees in centering on Someiyoshino (a kind of cherry blossoms tree).
One of the best cherry blossoms sites in this park is free open space. The open space is surrounded by a lot of cherry blossoms. The weeping cherry blossoms and double cherry blossoms are also blooming, please find a cherry blossom viewing position with your family and friends. "Cherry Blossoms Festival" is held during the flowering period of cherry blossoms in this park and many stalls are opened on the road along free open space.

Must see! Really green but at the end of the April without hanami. There is a zoo with a free entrance.

A regular park in Omiya that's famous for its temple and cherry blossom trees during spring season. Free to come, no charge to enter the old small museum. Lots of family with kids come here to play so it gets busy and populated. Lots of old people with their dogs too. A place to unwind or if you don't have money come to this park and bring your date. Lots of couple do that here.
