At one time, this was the center of the shopping and entertainment universe for visiting sailors of the US 7th fleet. Today, it's a gentrified and sedated neighborhood in transition. Many of the old bars and souvenir shops are closed and making way for redevelopment....More

This was a very fun place. Lots of neat shops by day, and fun clubs at night. A very safe neighborhood with people just having a good time. Some very good food along here too.

One place after the other, but OK. Mostly small Japanese tourist shops and restaurants. Been there, go a T shirt. Nothing to write home about. Expensive.

I visited the street during my lunch break. It looks like the place can be interesting when more shops and the bars are open.

We went in the middle of the day and most stores were closed. Seems to be a mixture of eateries and shops selling military and souvenir clothes. Much smaller area than imagined.
