On a nice sunny day my wife and I wanted to get away, so we went to Zoorasia for the first time. This is a Beautiful Park with many animals. But we enjoyed walking through the woods and relaxing since there were many people there. It is a reat Place for families to go with their children.

As always, kids love to see animals. The zoo is huge and the animals can freely roam around the big space they have compared to typical zoos with smaller cages.

I left Queensland for the zoo around 1:00 pm. But between subways, trains, lunch and a bus I didn't arrive until 3:30 pm

And it closes at 4:30 pm !!! Why didn't I research this ?

Anyway, I power walked for 60 minutes between animals.
The grounds were beautiful.

Large zoo set in very nice gardens and shaded areas. Interesting mix of animals some of which we had not seen before such clouded leopard and the proboscis monkey. Displays had a number of viewing platforms so it was not too crowded. Had mixed feelings about the polar bears the exhibit was large but felt it might not have been the best climate for them. Well laid out with the animals grouped into area such as Africa and Amazon, took a few hours to cover the whole area but was worth the trip.

Getting here from Yokohama station was a bit of a trek but once we got here it was thoroughly enjoyable. I was surprised by what they had - polar bears, penguins, capybaras, and my favorite, an okapi. We did most of the zoo in about 2.5 hours but had to cut it short since it closed at 4:30, which surprised us since it was summer time. Still my daughter and I enjoyed the afternoon there.

Though it is located in Yokohama which is far from Tokyo still I recommend it strongly to the travelers traveling to Japan. Please keep minimum 3-4 hours time to cover the entire zoo. Moreover, young travelers like it most as they can have a clear picture of all the main climatic regions of the world and the animals and their habitat.

The zoo has typical animals like any other zoo. The signage was rather confusing inside. This zoo has the best interactive playgrounds I have seen at any zoo before. Spent there about 3 hours and managed to see everything even had lunch. The place is not too big.

Zoorasia is located in yokohama, almost 2 hours train trip from Tokyo. At beginning a bit doubt regarding with the zoo condition, however after take a long trip and arrived in the zoo, the doubt is gone..The zoo is very clean..with the combination of several animal's from several continent, the zoo just doing great. You can walk to see the entire zoo, and it is fun.
However prepare for the cash since they don't accept credit card payment..

It’s bit far to reach from Central Yokohama area but it’s still worth while going there to explore Zoorasia.

Elephants welcome visitors entering from the main gate!

It offers more than we expected and we ended up not seeing everything. Especially if you are keen to get your kids experience with small animals, it is a must to get there early as spots get filled up quickly!
